Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
Tonight after 10 hours work, I'm spending my friday night in from of the tv with tacos , alone. I'm often alone and dreaming about a family and love in this moment. Thinking and trying to understand what happened and trying to get over the shock, the disappointment and all that no-sense of the last months.
I feel less alone now thought compare to be close to someone potentially dangerous that may put me in a difficult position with my living situation and with my heart. So I start thinking about respect. I start thinking and promise to myself "I will not allowed desrespect and poor behavior from anyone."
Because it is SO TRUE. If we don't respect ourself , how can others respect us ? And others feel we allowed them to take advantage of us......for any reason we may have . Maybe we are insecure, maybe afraid to loose others affection, maybe we just don't wanna be alone or maybe we have a "weak" personality. What ever reason we may have, we ALL have our strenght and pride and we need those qualities in moments of our life when someone treat use with NO RESPECT!
We are strong and good hearted : a great combination. We just need to bring it at the sunlight !

You have done a marvellous thing, you have saved yourself from a life of lies and mental abuse. You have learnt that you are worth more than this crap, despite the confusion and heartbreak you feel, you have stood up for yourself. Never again will someone pull the wool over your eyes in this way because you have learnt that words are cheap, and in the behaviour (actions) of a person lie their true intentions.
It is human nature to give people the benefit of the doubt, a psycho knows this and he exploits it to the fullest. I do not see forgiveness as a weakness, we are all human, we all make mistakes in our lives. A normal person learns by those mistakes a psycho does not. A psycho cannot compromise or meet you halfway and will forever be tramping on your boundaries and disregarding your feelings.
You only put up with what you allow. If you allow someone to treat you like dirt then it will continue. Self respect is saying to yourself 'hang on a minute, I am actually not going to allow this' ... when somebody tramples on your boundaries, there has to be consequences for them otherwise you are nothing better than a doormat.
You are totally right many....if we allowed someone to treat us like dirt, they will! We NEED to put a STOP at that!
I heard from a conference I attended this weeks someone that said :"fake it until you make it". It sounded very interesting to me. I always believed we can do anything we want with a pure heart. I still believe that. Because I let my ex in my life even if I didn't want to and I take my responsability of it. Entirely.
I'm so happy you found a good man, and maybe it could be a good idea to share an article about it to give hope to all those ones that right now don't feel any hope.
And you are so right......when you are proud of yourself, others are too!!! It's contagious isn't???
