I would imagine that if they haven't found a new victim, that the harassment would get worse. My advice would be to do everything you can to put them off you. Dont bother with your appearance around him - just dont take care of yourself at all. Be boring, dull, sit looking at your mobile if you have to see him, never give him money even if you have it. Make out you are always poor. Dont laugh anymore or be funny. Just be boring. Look boring.

He will get himself a new victim. Because they have to. They cant survive without someone else to live off. When he does, then get yourself a new man. if it happens before that, i would imagine (well i couldnt imaging, as until mine got a new victim i couldnt breath, let alone meet someone new).... if it happens before that - i would imagine the harassment would escalate to get rid of the 'competition'

He did this to me - he didnt even want me. Had stolen from me, and moved hundreds of miles away. I met someone only as a friend - nothing else. Nothing else happened. He was going to be my lodger. He hounded him harassed him - until lthe person went away.

Save yourself the heartache..... as that would hurt even more. Put him off you, as much as you can, and make sure the gets NOTHING from you.... and he WILL get himself a new victim.

When he does... you are then free to meet someone else....

Oh, I have as little contact with my ex as possible and I don't miss him for a second. I try to keep all communication via snail mail (we have joint legal custody) because I have panic attacks when I have to deal with him. He hasn't seen me in person for at least 18 months.

Mine has actually had a new victim for over 2 years now (before we divorced), which has definitely helped in some ways; however, we've been through this before.
After our first divorce, when I started dating someone new, I caught my ex digging through my trash and sneaking in my house. We'd been apart 2 years then, too, and my ex had a girlfriend - just like now.

At least now we have 1,000 miles separating us so that's a plus (no more dumpster diving), but the no contact I initiated only made him more angry so I'm pretty sure he's out to destroy me. I've seen all his moves so I'm already well aware of his strategies. That's why I'm becoming a bit worried.

I don't know if a boyfriend would scare him off or add more wood to the fire.

I really wish sociopaths were afraid of garlic and crosses... hey, has anyone actually tried that yet???

Depends on the S. My S stalker for over six years did not get bored of me despite trying every trick under the sun. These people will only leave you alone when it suits THEM. When they feel you are no longer useful, or when you expose them, they lose interest. Another valuable thing my S stalker taught me is that they play on your weaknesses. If you want them to leave you alone, pretend that you would be mortified if you ever lost contact with them and that would do the trick. They would want to hurt you emotionally so play the game. Pretend you don't want them to leave you alone and see how quickly they'll vanish out of your life. they would come back every now and then to check if you have stopped hurting so they'd give you another dose of their emotional abuse. They're sick people with sick minds and unfortunately you have to sometimes play sick games with them to get them our of your life. It took me over six years to realise how to deal with my stalker and I think I've cracked it now. They have their weaknesses too, so mirror them and play their game. Good luck!
