Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
Second, there is plenty of support on this group, and you've received plenty. But you continue to have this attitude that you are the ONLY person in the world or in this group who has actually been the victim of a psychopath. That simply isn't true. You're not the only one, you're not the only one here, you're not the only who has had to go to court (I pressed charges against both of mine, one was convicted). You're not the only one who has had your life destroyed. I have PTSD that started during the stalking by the first psychopath and that I continue to have till this day. It is to the point where I now have to work from home because I am disabled by it. It has been 8 years. I still have nightmares about him trying to kill me and he's dead now. I had a pretty normal life before him. Was very active, lots of hobbies and activities. Now, nothing. Rarely leave my house. Because I was the victim of a psychopath. And because that victimization set the stage for further victimizations, very common. You may not see the pattern yet, but there IS a pattern. You've already mentioned that your family isn't supportive and blames you. That is how it starts. That is what made you a target, whether you want to realize that yet or not. That is exactly what the psychopaths are looking for. Lack of a support system, low self esteem because of family of origin, etc. You have a long way to go in your recovery fro this, and a lot to learn. You are very new to this. Some of us have been studying this and been in recovery, therapy, etc for many years. It's not something you get over in a few months. You may not realize that yet. You may want to deny that. It's all part of the process. But the problem is that you keep wanting to bite the hand that feeds you. People are trying to help you and you want to attack them. I suggest dealing with your anger issues, dealing with the trauma in an appropriate way so that you stop projecting it onto other people who don't deserve it.
You're welcome to talk about whatever aspects of psychopath recovery that you want to here. Others are welcome to chime in on topics they can relate to or ignore topics they don't. Everyone can participate at their own level of desire. We don't try to control others here. And we don't attack others. This is a place for support. I'd suggest maybe attending a real life support group a few times to get the feel for how it works, what's appropriate and what's not.
Sounds all good to me, I fail to see how it could be a problem for anyone.
Check out the rules, Daily Strength doesn't use moderators. I've seen people appoint themselves as moderators in groups and start telling people who belonged and who didn't. DS staff found out and removed them from the website.
