Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
Rarely do we hear discussions where people who have character disordered kids can vent about their anguish. We look around on Mother's Day and see all the joyous, wonderful expressions of appreciation we never received despite how hard we knocked ourselves out for our children. And we wonder what we have to celebrate.
I gave it some thought and decided to share....
If they're grown and have moved away.... you can thank your lucky stars you're no longer having to deal with their day-to-day abuse. They can stand on their feet despite the horrible way they treated you and the awful venom they hurled at you.
And you can be glad you know what being a mother was really like. If you didn't know you'd be knocking yourself out over what you thought you'd missed. Instead, you know that lament would just be wasted torment.
Hoping all mothers of grown up abusive children get a sense of peace today knowing you did the best you could and being glad that now, they're somebody else's problem.
And I hope those who are still in the throws of raising them can find solace in knowing that time will pass and they'll be out of the house one day. Don't tolerate their abuse. There is nothing to gain by doing so. They will not appreciate your caring. It won't change them. Only proper therapy can make a difference. Get help, get strong. Make it your Mother's Day gift to yourself.

I know your pain all too well! You can't live with them, and you can't live without them! People think- simply walk away.... but nothing compares to the hurt of losing a child. And when you lose them because of who they are, the pain is excruciating. You know that she's chosen the path that keeps you apart.
It's interesting that you mentioned the age of the man she married. Being a "Gold Digger" is often described, even in my book, "Carnal Abuse by Deceit," as "marrying a person 30 years older." Thirty is simply an arbitrary figure, but I'm sure you get the point. She's after stability and life-style and can live with the fact that she has very little in common with him in order to get what she wants. Her emotional makeup is shallow. Her life is all about what she can get.
I wish you strength in dealing with your separation.
