I wrote about this in my journal, but I thought I'd share this. Two Sundays ago my ex-husband (who I think is the sociopath) texts me and asks if he can bring this little girl to my house for a playdate with my son when he brings him home to me. It was a strange request since I hadn't had a very good relationship with her parents since my divorce over a year ago, in fact we don't speak to each other. But I thought about the 2 years I had stepped in and taken care of the little girl when her mom was having a bad gambling problem. I was like a mother to her and I did miss her. Even though it was odd I said it would be fine.
My ex shows up at 2 pm with the kids and before he leaves I ask him what time her father is coming to pick her up. His reply is "aren't you bringing her home?" Well, since they lived in my old neighborhood where I would have to go by my old house that my ex was living in with his girlfriend and have go into this little girl's house, no I was not planning on driving her home. He asked me if I was responsible for her, that any normal parent would do this then went on to ask if I had food in the house and if I was even going to feed her. He kept twisting things and making me look bad to the point I had to ask him to leave. I couldn't figure out why it was such a big deal that I bring her home.
Around 5 pm my son (8 y/o) comes to me and says that he thought that he and "Lucy" were supposed to go to dinner with his dad, girlfriend and Lucy's parents. Thinking that was strange I text my ex and he says "no". I start to do something when it occurs to me why my ex was so mad at me for not agreeing to take Lucy home and why I even have Lucy. He's going out with Lucy's parents and his girlfriend and they want to stay out late so they needed a babysitter and they needed me to take her home to her 92 y/o grandmother. They knew they couldn't leave Lucy with the grandmother all that time, but it would be okay at bedtime. I felt so stupid for being duped once again.
I don't hear anything from Lucy's parents or my ex until 9 pm when my cell phone rings and it's my ex. I thought "I'm not answering that and getting into it with him again." He texts me and wants to know when I'm bringing Lucy home. I didn't reply. I will only answer to her parents whom I haven't spoken to since she got here and that has been 7 hours ago.
My ex shows up at my door tellling Lucy to get her stuff she was going with him. I said actually she's not. I told him that he was playing some kind of game, that I had been accused of being irresponsible, he had been out drinking and I have yet to talk to her parents so "no" she is not coming with him. I will only release her to her parents. He threatens me with the police and her father then leaves.
He comes back with Lucy's father who I hear in my foyer. I come down the stairs, he has his back to me so walk up to him to explain why I'm doing what I'm doing when he turns and puts his finger in my face and says "what are you doing!" then pushes me. I push back and get pushed again. I tell him to stop it and this time he slams me against the wall yelling that I'm "kidnapping his f---ing daughter!!!" I tell him "no" and try to push him off and get slammed again, try to push him off and get slammed one more time. He just leaves after that, nothing else he is just gone.
I did call the police and pressed charges and he is saying that I attacked him. My ex is saying that he was in the car which he wasn't. He also told my 8 y/o son that I attacked Lucy's father not realizing that my son had witnessesd the whole thing.
Where in the world would this father get the idea that I was trying to kidnap his child? I mean I have been like a mother to her for 2 years and obviously he trusted me because he never called me once during the time she was with me that day. I had told my ex that I would only release her to her parents. My bet is that he told him something different. That he manipulated him and enraged him. What is really scary about this is that this man that attacked me is a gun collector and shoots on a regular basis. He could just been enraged enough to have picked up a gun and instead of a finger in my face it could have been a gun. He could have blown my face off before I knew what was happening. All because my ex-husband had manipulated the whole situation.
I want to speak out against this kind of crime that lives in the shadows. It's dangerous and seems to have no limits. When I face this man in court I am going to ask him what my ex said to him when he picked him up to bring him to my house. I think that will say it all. I'm exhausted, but I'm going to fight for what's right.

I think you should go to someone who you trust and even if its a police officer and ask for a mediation so that you and lucy's real father can sit down and talk about what really happend. Yes your ex diffinately manipulated the situation and im sorry you were used and abused like that but now you know that you cannot take anything he say's no matter how harmless at face value. They are always scheming always. Renember that. As for Lucy's real father he might not want to listen but all you can do is try. Good luck
