Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
Well I've been hoping to see a positive follow-up from emysty about how her court hearing went so since we're lacking posts, I'll tell you about the fun of seeing my ex for the first time since almost 2 years ago.
To start, I've got him pegged. I can forecast him better than I could forecast the weather (I was an Air Force meteorologist, too). We're in the middle of a court battle... and I think I got just my trump card. :-)
The OW's mother passed away last weekend. Her mother lived about 30 minutes away from where the kids & I moved to so I predicted this:
1- If my ex & the OW flew in to town, they'd sneak under the radar and never let us know they were here because my ex doesn't really want to see our kids, he just wants to "win".
2- If they drove here, he'd show up on my doorstep without prior notification and demand to take the kids... trying to catch me off guard and upset me.... but he wouldn't take our kids for the entire weekend as per our court order. Maybe just for a few hours before or after the funeral.
3- I could be completely wrong about my ex and he, being a caring parent, would take the opportunity of coming to our area anyway (we live 1,000 miles apart) to spend some quality time with our kids, just as I would do if I were in a similar situation.
AND THE WINNER IS:
#2 !!!
But since we saw the obituary online already, I was prepared for his arrival.
He notified me BY EMAIL on the day he arrived. No phone calls... and he knew he was coming out here at least 2-days prior.
By showing up unannounced, he was trying to get me flustered to show the court what an unreasonable monster I am.
However, I was polite, sympathetic, and very accommodating.
So instead, I got 3 super angry and demanding voicemails from him that I can now present to the court to prove his control and anger issues.

AND our daughter finally got the chance to take baby steps towards standing up to her abuser.
She'll be 16 y/o in 2 months, which tends to be the magical age where the law says teenagers are able to make their own decisions and they're not forced to go for visits because they have "their own walking papers", as one officer put it.
P.S. he didn't bring the kids any gifts from Christmas.

He got out of his car and tried to get a good look at me but I stayed on the other side of the lot.
He looked AWFUL!!! LMAO... ah, thank you, Universe. Life is back to good.
Patience is a virtue after all. :-)
and it absolutely does feel good to have some sort of a road map, even if there are a few unexpected delays or detours.
....I also know how to fight back.
