Look up psychopathic bonding. Its what they do to lure you in. They isolate you, so you become dependent on him. Make himself indispensible to you. Make you believe that you wouldnt be able to cope without him. He does all this with various methods. Its called brain washing. It can take a while to leave someone who has treated you that way.

I think all of us have done things like that. I even disobeyed my own inner warning to stay away from my...whatever she is. It's like their magnets are stronger.

Yes i said the very same thing. Not only stupid but humiliated for being so used by someone who i thought loved me. That is how good these people are. I agree with eyes. I have met a lot of intelligent men and women on this site. It is the nature of the beast that they hold you in their web like prey and we become so twisted and turned around we dont know what is truth and what is a lie. Keep posting. A lot of good people on this site who have great insight. After 10 weeks of discard i am finally walking out of the fog into a stronger more accepting of myself me. Hugs to you!

LOL, the stories of our lives.sad but unconscionable true. I have a college education,he has an 8th grade education and I tried to have faith in him and our relationship for 20 long years. I took my vows to the extreme. I have never been more at peace then I am now. I just recently implemented no contact. New year, new beginning and a new heart and spirt. @morgan... married mine TWICE over the course of 14 years. Imagine the egg on my face. :-)
But life is beyond awesome now. Divorced him 3 years ago and I discarded a LOT of one-sided "friendships".
I can honestly say I have never been happier and so at peace with myself. It does get better!
