I have used it for 30 years. Literally anyone can do it. You just start where you are. Modify the movements if you can't do them completely. Your body will loosen up naturally over time.
Nothing, of course, beats sleep for rejuvenation. Inadequate sleep has been linked to weight gain. You may want to have your thyroid and adrenal glands tested.
I would also recommend long, hot baths, with some natural scents, maybe lavendar which is relaxing. Massage is wonderful if you can afford it.
I think keeping a journal is therapeutic. Over time, you can look back and see your progress. A dream journal is another nice thng. You keep a notebook by your bed and write down your dreams as soon as you wake and before you forget them. It is a way to access your subconscious which can be a source of guidance. It's also self-nurturing.
I feel so bad for what you are going through. It sounds overwhelming--fighting court battles, interviewing for jobs and being rejected, having many children to care for, dealing with health issues. You are a very strong woman to deal with all this. I will be thinking of you and holding you up in prayer (((sanctus))).
For one thing, they make you do more than normal for them and that is tiring.
Psychological stress can make your mind muddled and your body tired. Getting away from the stress can help clear your mind and restore your body. Find a way to relax you enjoy. I personally felt a lot of benefit from getting out in nature. And in finding an interest that carries no negative emotions or challenges with it, to retreat to when things get overwhelming.
If you have been in the relationship for a long time, you might have physically suffered damage. I echo the recommendation to get your adrenal and thyroid glands tested. Use a naturopath or DO or MD into alternative medicine. My experience with an endocrinologist was that they do not test for the more subtle dysfunctions that can happen with long-term stress, and then they scare you away from hormone treatments unless your situation is extreme. I found much help in an adrenal regimen, and thyroid can be treated once that is under way if needed.
At the extreme, and for some people on N and P victim/survivor boards, some of us were driven into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or related illnesses such as Chronic Lyme's or Fibromyalgia. I believe vulnerability to this is related to extreme long-term stress and . Look these up for so many suggestions about what to do about exhaustion.
Lastly, I am not sure how long you have been out of the relationship. But some people get complex PTSD. This can make your emotions and fears triggered very easily and can lead to fatigue and insomnia from always circling thoughts and worries. It also can cause insomnia, which can add to fatigue. There are effective treatments for PTSD and it may subside on its own I have had it more than once and it has subsided after a year or two.
These are some things to look into and think about. Good luck!
