I think the label helped me realise that there was no hope for anything normal or healthy with my ex, for that I am grateful to the PSN label. I agree with you totally that it helped me see the picture as a whole, the details of the picture I'm not so sure. I think my ex probably had other disorders and problems but that the overriding personality trait was PSN. Unchangeable, untreatable, unrelenting.

It was a bit like one of the 'ahhh!' moments when suddenly I knew that I wasn't crazy and that the no empathy or responsibility was one of the biggest signs of his disorder. When I started talking to other victims on this forum I realised how many of their experiences matched mine, after being told for so long by my ex p that my mind was broken and that I was crazy it was a good feeling to know that I actually wasn't insane but that I had been in a toxic relationship.

The behaviours are so crazy at times that I knew very early on in the relationship that something wasn't right with him. But you put it down to character flaws at first, but then (for me) you started to see patterns of behaviour over timescales, from each idealism to discard. I was able to predict when he would next kick off, he'd try to pick fights with me so that he could storm off! He became extremely predictable.

All the crazy behaviours suddenly made sense when I read an article on Anti Social Personality Disorder. It was the missing piece in the puzzle. I think the biggest red flag was the ability to tell lies ... shamefully and without remorse ... it was comforting to read the criteria and be able to identify with it

I agree. Especially that I knew it wasn't me that was crazy and psychotic as he tried to paint me. Also that I didn't have to be jealous of the next woman because he can't change and it was never personal about me!

I sidestepped an encounter with another disordered individual very recently, he had been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. Within a week he was telling me he loved me, offering to pay for a ticket to get me to his house, messages everyday .. morning and night ... even after I told him I wasn't interested in a relationship, he kept pushing my boundaries, trying to wear me down with kindness .... I blocked him! Never again will I be railroaded into a situation that makes me uncomfortable, I have become very good at trusting my instincts since my episode with the psychopath ... I won't tolerate that nonsense ever again!
