Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
So happy to hear you and your children are doing so well. Although I'm not 100% thru the storm I'm doing much better. I went to custody mediation (mandatory in ca.) and the mediator suggest I get sole legal and physical custody of our son with supervised visits for my x. I go to court on Jan.23 for the final judgement and divorce, child support. My lawyer said 9 times out of 10 the judge will follow the mediators suggestion so I am beyond ecstatic. I can't wait til everything is over I feel 2013 will be a great year for me and my son. Thank you for keeping us updated you've always been helpful in my healing. Xoxo
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so happy everything went well! Here's toasting to the beginning of the end. Stay the friendliest little pocket of sunshine you can be and if your ex isn't getting a reaction from you, he'll move on. Give you son all the attention you possibly can. Men come and go but your children will love you forever if you raise them right. :-) Make sure for every negative (disciplinary) action there's at least two positives waiting for them... and hugs! Lots of hugs.
There's no way I could have done this without my awesome kiddos.
FYI, my ex tried filing for an injunction right before Christmas and the Judge DENIED it!
I'm still waiting on our modification court date to get this taken care of once and for all.
My best friend here says once you have those papers in your hand and you know it's over, it's the best feeling in the world... it's like being released from a cage so again I say YAY! Please keep me updated.
(yes judges usually listen to therapists and mediators so I have faith this is going to be great news)
@Usedpsych.... lots of time away from the dating scene; television; social websites... so I could have time to THINK. When I realized how ridiculous our society is about romantic relationships, I just "got over it". I don't know how else to explain it. I met some girls from work so I have an outlet and we all complain about our awful exes as a way to vent and bond. :-)
But I also have a totally kick-butt teenage daughter who keeps me on track. I have to be a good example so she doesn't repeat patterns that have continued in our families for generations.
Books on sociopathy; reading up on matriarchal societies and toning up on being a proud female - not absorbing the misogynistic messages we women receive on a daily basis.
Girl power is power. :-)
OH! And occasionally finding a mental release by playing old-school Legend of Zelda. LOL!
Just find what makes you happy.
