Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
Understanding that a true Psychopathy is a brain abnormality, I often wonder why God would create the psychopath? When we think of the meaning of whats makes us human, they basically are not. If they have no ability within their brain to have a will to do good then what is their purpose on Earth? For themselves I can see none. Are they merely empty shells, human on the outside, tests for everyone else?
This is a thought that bothers me. Anyone else ever had this question?

Yes. Spiritual thought is something you will find has been common on this board even if we are differing in our beliefs. I am Christian so the belief in the presence of a loving God also means that I believe in the presence of a non-loving Satan. Since biblical time Satan's hold over the world has been strong. Simon Peter himself was taken in by the trickery. I do not believe that psychopathy was created by God anymore than cancer, AIDS, or deformed babies. God does not create sadness and anguish for his children. Sadness and anguish exist because of Satan only. Mankind having freewill has the choice to go with God or go with Satan. Satan puts all sorts of stuff into our paths to turn our loving God-filled hearts towards him. I don't believe that I am full of Satan but I do believe that I continue to run into evil people because that is Satan's way of trying to get me to turn towards lovelessness, darkness, and hate. It is my challenge and my lot in life. I keep fighting....some days better then others. I think God has helped me to see evil better by putting resources in my way to discover and use. Even this board was put into my path but it is my choice whether to take hold. Maybe a psychopaths brain does not have the same capabilities but all of the research you do will tell you that they know what they are doing is morally corrupt and wrong. If they didn't know that they would not hide and manipulate. They know they are different and make choices just like we make choices. I think they have probably crossed over to the other side and made a pact with the darkness of the world. Evil and Satan are real living things to me....and I also think they are to a psychopath too....maybe even more so than "normal" people. Maybe they see the world even more clearly. Are they empty shells? Yes. Are they a test? Yes, but not from God. The spiritual piece of this is very important to recover.

I find it very confusing.....separating the line between spirituality and psychology. My therapist told me not everything on the internet is true (uh really?). To that I told him how across the board I do my research and am open to variety of resource backgrounds. He told me I'm trying to analyze too much and from too many resources. But then when one is trying to answer questions for oneself , how else is there to do it?

As you get further into your recovery process the spirituality piece may take over. At least it did for me. Once you have learned most of what you can and still come up with unanswered questions, this is where God really kicked in for me. At certain times, you just have to hand it over. I did in order to get peace.

Yes...and I have come to terms with as I told my therapist this week that I understand I may never get the answers I'm looking for, and how could I anyway when my husband isn't even able to answer why he's doing what he's doing or even know who he is.
