Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
You are going through withdraws of a sociopath not nicotine.
It's anxiety from your relationship. Google traumatic/ psychopathic bonding. Killing your addiction to a sociopath is the same as killing your addiction to a drug. It really does get a lot better the more time goes on.
HUGS!!!
I promise, though, the anger will slowly subside with time. You will one day say to yourself "who the fu&^"did I date/marry?" In time, you will also be glad he is out of your life because that person you thought you knew was a sick, twisted act/illusion and you were his prey. They are masters at seducing, gaming, and ruining (as someone posted in another discussion).
As difficult as it may be, continue to surround yourself with friends/family and go on being your beautiful self. Remember, karma will catch up with him down the road. Hugs.
But if it persists, I'd also recommend to get checked up by professionals just to be safe.
I don't smoke, but I did go out with friends a couple of weekends ago and drank, once I caught a buz I was getting triggers to the point where I wasn't having fun and had to have my sister take me home. Probably because whenever I would go out with my friends while in the relationship he would text and call me all night. He made it seem like I couldn't take care of myself and he cared and that was why I had to text and talk to him on the phone every minute I was out. He also made up stupid lies about the place I was at or the people that were at the club. To scare me into going home or something. (before I knew he was a liar)
Was there anything that may have triggered you while you were on the nicotine buzz?
All these old memories and putting more pieces together must have really ticked me. I felt like I was getting inside his mind.
