Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
This past year has been beyond belief. I have had a very successful career of 26 years. I have been laid off three times this past year. I had thought the previous two were bad but ... This has all been exacerbated by a sociopathic soon to be ex. That part is the toughest, getting divorced again. It's not that I care what she does (as long as it doesn't effect my daughter) but to watch her screwing everything she see when she wouldn't let me touch her for almost three years. My other two children are grown and live far away which leaves me going to Starbucks every morning to work on job searches and coming home in the evening to watch the grass grow.

Try using your alone time to find out new things you are good at and things that you have not done before.

went without a vacation (too expensive!) he was tacking on sightseeing trips, etc
with her at the conferences to make it look like business. Our love life was non
existant, while his was doing well, thank you very much.
I can say from somewhat embarrassed experience, it's easy to get obsessed about the
betrayal and start spinning your wheels. A great site to buoy spirits post betrayal is
Chump Lady . She has some hilarious insights about cheaters and their special
brand of insanity.
Life can seem boring without the P/S drama and chaos, but that is the space you'll
need to create your new life. Soon new people and experiences will take the
place of this lull and what you're going though now will seem like a shitty flea bag
motel in your rearview mirror.
&disi is right. Fill in your time with the things you've wanted to do, learn, see. I know it's a lot easier said than done when job searching, but "this too, shall pass" and you'll still have time to fill constructively...
