No, all these women are not telling the same lie. Has that ever happened before in the history of mankind? And they told the same lie without knowing other women were telling it, too, years, decades, ago? He did it. Not all the women kept the story to themselves. Some went to lawyers. At least one pressed charges. Other told friends and family.

I believe the women, I hadn't heard about this until now, the story hasn't broken in the UK yet that I know of. I googled and found the stories from the US. The women's experiences are all consistent, I'm glad they are bringing him to justice now. He's an abuser, drugging women and raping them, I imagine Heffner is a misogynist but not a rapist. Who knows though? When will we stop allowing men to treat women like trash, this 'evolved' society isn't so evolved after all. Women are still perceived second class citizens.

I think it's harder for people to beliueve when it's someone they want to like. Bill Cosby appears as the "good guy" with his comedy, his family based Cosby Show that ran for years, his"jello" pudding commercials with kids and "Kids Say the Darndest things". He has the public image down pat. So it makes it hard to believe that someone that appears to be a good person could do these horrible things.

That is the difficulty I had with it when I first heard these stories. I didn't want to believe it because I always liked him...or at least his public persona. But take someone famous who I never heard of before. In Canada there is a similar case in the media with Jian Ghomeshi a public radio broadcaster with thousands of fans. I had never heard of this guy before because I never listened to his radio show. He's a big name here in Canada I guess. One woman came forward alleging he violently sexually assaulted her.His comeback was to say that he was being falsely accused of sexual assault when in fact he was into rough sex and it was all completely consensual. He thought he would win. But after the first woman came forward, one after another more and more women started coming forward as well. Women that said they were ashamed to admit what happened to them. The total is now at 10. I had no trouble believing the women's accounts of what happened. Why? Because I didn't know the guy from a hole in the wall so I had no preconcieved idea of who he is. But both stories are the same. I believe both men are guilty, but I found one harder than the other simply because I wanted to like him. As more and more women come forward I have to admit the truth that Bill Cosby is not who he portrayed himself to be. He fooled a lot of people.

I am noticing more and more stories like this lately. Oscar Pretorius is another one...total psychopath that got off with a slap on the wrist for murdering his girlfriend, with the excuse "I thought a burglar was in the bathroom so I shot through the door"...riiiight. Ridiculous. And so sad how many get away with it.

Yep. He's a psychopath. I can't stand to read the comments I see on these news stories about it. Everyone blaming the victim. I end up posting several links to the psychology behind victim-blaming. Anyone who thinks 20-something women all came up with the same lie, for decades, against a powerful man, is a total moron. And you KNOW that these 20-something who have come forward are just an extremely small fraction of the real number of victims out there. Rape victims don't come out because of fear of the exact reaction that these poor women are getting. And the truth is, even with all the testimony of rich, successful women who have no reason whatsoever to put themselves through this aside from justice, he'll still probably get a slap on the wrist.

AgentSmith, Well put. and I am running into morons almost every day who say, "I really hope he didn't do it." Yeah, well, I hope I wake up and discover the last 4 years of my life were just a bad dream, but I'm not dumb enough that I think this might happen. Right after I said, "Of course he did it.," the most recent person said, "Well, then, his wife had to know about it." I have heard that over and over, too. It is SO depressing how uneducated the world is about about how psychopathic abuse works, how the victims close the P are brainwashed into believeing lies, how the wives, children and girlfriends are even more bruatlly abused than the non-familial victims because they are kept separated from the truth, which is the essence of their very souls. They are soul-raped. Brutally, and for years.

I saw some good articles about the psychology behind victim-blaming and why these people CHOOSE to be so ignorant. It's because it's safer to believe that this can't possible happen to them. It HAD to be the victims fault. That way they can assume they'll never do whatever the victim did and it will never happen to them and they're safe.

That sounds about right, AgentSmith. I have to grit my teeth as people begin to accept the obvious, and the inevitable wife-bashing gets going. Why not bash the rapist? Why sniff around for some victim who can be blamed for this horror? But what you said makes sense.

Yes I always wanted to know that, why blame the victim? Surely they need support not blame. I saw it first hand when I left my ex, I was a social leper, no one wanted to come near it was like being abused was a disease they could catch.

Going back to Bill Cosby, this story hasn't broken at all yet in the UK. Our headlines are all abuse driven though, Westminster politicians from the 70s and 80s who raped and killed children. Paedophile rings rich and powerful enough to destroy evidence. It's the enablers of this abuse who should be locked away too, abuse thrives when people look the other way.

There must be millions of women who have had experiences with males and never reported it. If you live in a small community or had a problem with someone where you work, you might keep abuse a secret - who knows what a friend's reaction would be or the dreaded drama in court. The sad part is that these men are so good at pretending to be responsible and trustworthy individuals. Cosby drugged the women, thank Heaven all of them were able to go forward

I would venture to say that very few women have NOT been sexually assaulted. Predators are usually prolific, so while predators are a minority of men, those men have many victims.

Also, to add what Kris said, a lot of these predators, while they may be the minority, put themselves in positions of power, where they are able to have MANY victims. Politicians, cops, teachers, coaches, etc. They can get away with it for far longer, because of their position.

100% agree with Agent Smith. It is rampant in government, too. As we can see by the things going on in the news. Wealthy people like Cosby can get away with so much.
Even in a small town like mine I have a list of things you probably wouldn't believe. I work and am contact with many local bigwigs.

Our local sheriff who ran his entire political career on his irreproachable integrity and Christianity was caught having a four year long affair with a well known drug trafficking prostitute. He gave her a gun and went on trips around the country lecturing about integrity with her while his wife of 30 years stayed home and ran the office. It later came out that another sheriff 200 miles away was also involved with the same woman!

I am curious about teachers. Mine is a professor. He is a predator. Are there other instances of this? Is this a commonality? I would like to do some research on this.Mine wears his PhD like some badge, some free card to get out of trouble. He also uses his immigrant status. He sucks people into his false personality and then he destroys them.
