thanks avram, i think i have now bought and read just about every book and article on the topic for my recovery. I go back and forth from heartbroken, sad.......to disgust and revulsion in the same day.

Thanks for this article Avram. Unfortunately, I was able to find a moment/scenario/incident to match just about every characteristic listed there. Though I am recovering, I realize that something in me is different. I am mostly my old self but there is a change in who I am as a result of this experience. It is very heartbreaking. I can't tell yet if the change is for better or worse. I can only hope it is the former.

I hear you, Pavlova and feel many of the same things. In my hopeful moments, I want to believe that the change is for the better, if for no other reason than it makes me less susceptible to these predators in the future. But then I remember that Mark Twain quote...
