Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
jimmy page is also a notorious plagierest---or should be, since fans of his don't care. Page took the 1960s song, "babe i'm gonna leave you", that folk singer joan baez first sung, and just plain put his name on it. "dazed and confused" is a 1967 song page also just plain put his name to---and which the origonal singer finally is sueing over. Page and other members of Led Zeppilan were honored at the white house, by Hillary Clinton, not long ago.
Kenneth Anger a satanist, underground film maker, and maybe met Crowley. Page even wrote music for one of Anger's short movies. According to one expose, Anger is also a con artist, with Anger claiming a member of Charlie Manson's family stole a half-finished underground movie, though the Manson family member claimed Anger took the money raised for the movie and lived off it. The Manson family member later composed music for Anger's movie----from jail, where he has been serving a life sentance for a murder that pre-dates Tate/Labianca.
He was obsessed with sex, and the darker sides of it. I can't see how there was anything sacred in his sexual conquests, and yet he tried to make it seem like it was.
Nobody really knows all the things that went on with him. He liked to sacrifice animals in magickal rituals. Some say that he was a pedophile.
However, the main reason I liked this article was because it raises the question (though does a poor job of following through with it) of whether or not Crowley was psychotic in addition to sociopathic. I believe it is possible for there to be schizophrenic or schizo-like (excluding Schizoids and Schizotypals, as they would not have the requisite social skills) P's and S's, but it is hard to tell, since so many of them are pathological liars.
Which brings me back to Crowley...
@Darla
It seems like I've heard of him receiving revelation or traditions from women, but as far as his religion of Thelema goes, all I know for certain is that he claimed (and seemed to believe) that the Egyptian gods spoke to him, and that he was their prophet.
It goes right back to my last topic "More Questions About Lies and Liars", where I ask "where does a pathological lie end, and a delusion begin, and vice versa?".
The person I can't get over went about presenting her alleged supernatural and occult experiences in such a vivid and personal way, it's hard to say she just casually did it for attention. However, the changes in detail, and eventual discarding (but not denial) of the story later, seem to make it clear that she was in control of it the entire time. Like Crowley, who may have had stories he told and frequently enjoyed believing in.
It's also a fact that Narcissists have a "false self" which is built of lies they tell themselves.
re narcissists, false self and lies they build---sounds like most movie actors, really.
Cary Grant was born with some awkward/nerdy name, in poverty; actress Carrie Fisher said how Grant gave her advice when she was young, with her thinking how he had become the person his fans thought him to be.
Mae West behaved the same off screen, to her dying days, as she did onscreen in her youth. Kenneth Anger got upset when somebody brought up the fact that his real name was Angermayer or something like that.
All (?) actors are narcissists, with a false self, especially, of course gay actors who have straight reputations. And then there are the respectable/phoney tv reporters, with the Walter Cronkite (?) quote along the lines of "Once you are able to fake sincerity, you have it made."
