Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
Hi. Just joined this group, appreciate the invitation.
Even though it's been very difficult for me to accept this, I'm convinced now that my dad was some kind of psychopath. Some of the things he did were almost inhuman at times. He could be so smooth in the way he would talk you into believing that he was the most kind and wonderful person. But his actions could be really bad, especially when he got angry.
Everything was all about him, his reputation, his notions of how things should be in the world, his rules for everything. We couldn't even have food in the house when he didn't approve of it...and no music, no spices, very few vegetables, and so on. My mother once changed her hair style without his prior approval and he went into a total rage...pulling her hair and so on. He could be extremely brutal if you crossed him...we were all afraid of him.
Everyone in our extended family figured he was a little nuts. You had to be very careful what you said to him.
He absolutely loved having someone under his thumb so he could belittle them. And he loved manipulating people into doing what he wanted.
So I guess I belong here.

He divided the world into two camps...those who opposed him in any way, and those he considered his allies. To me that shows a monumental self-importance. The fact that everything had to be his way and only his way...that was his most fundamental characteristic. I think anyone who knew him would agree with that.
When I was young I could never understand why he always belittled me. He used to call me things like "his little seamstress" when I patched a hole in my jeans with needle and thread. When I started a business, he kept telling me it was doomed because I was too weak.
