This group is for people who have suffered at the hands of the mother that should have loved them. Here you can be free to discuss your problems, frustrations and fears. We understand because we have been there too. Our goal is to...
My mother's not diagnosed, but she is very abusive to me and not my brother, and on these internet is your mother narcissistic checks off everything on the list.
She tells me I'm sick.
With potty training I remember having clothes on I could not get off myself and frequently peeing myself while standing in the bathroom shouting for help, and of course cleaning it up myself, getting cold before she'd help. I also remember my dad would be home and that would not happen.
But as far as going for a sh it, I never ever got to go until I moved out without her banging on the door, breaking in, beating me, demanding I get out, screaming at me that I knew she needed to get in, "what for?" I'd ask, we had two bathrooms "I just do, and you know it" would be the answer.
I wouldn't be able to go when she was out as I'd fear she was on the way home, so I'd go in the dark if she was out, so she didn't see the bathroom light on when she got home, or I'd go after she'd gone to sleep or at my grandparents house or when my Dad was home, he worked away.
But, I'd be so deeply embarrassed to go anywhere.
This continued on once I left, I wouldn't be able to go if someone so much as walked nearby in the area of where a bathroom was situated and I couldn't go anywhere publicly (not so great in hospital with a nurse standing over you - ain't happening, poor husband, I yelled at him to get her out and get me earplugs so I could try to pretend no one was there, then got him to guard my private room while I was in the ensuite..still it took 3 attempts).
The past few years have been better, I'm married now and feel safe-ish (I'm still paranoid that I'll ruin it all and things will deteriorate back to that normal I grew up with.
