I had a panic attack today...
So today in my English class, my techer gave us a writing assignment for our book, Fahrenheit 451. One of the questions for the reading assignment was something I could not recall in the book. Me and most of my class told our teacher that we do not recall this. All of us just continued to write something that would seem to answer the question. Then, after everyone finishes writing, she says to me to go to page 15 to find it. She only said it to me. As if she didnt hear any of my other friends agree. I went to the page, and then she said that I have to see her after class. Next, I say to my friend, "I think I'm going to have a panic attack." All of my emotions had built up and they basically overfilled. I quickly ran out of the room and instantly cried. I had just had a panic attack in front of my class. I felt so embarrassed. I was crying because having a panic attack is so emotionally draining and traumatizing for me. This was only my third panic attack. It was becoming hard to breathe and I was shaking, so I used my breathing patters that I learned in therapy. They helped A LOT. My English techer came to see me and she asked me if there was anything she could do. I just said that I needed tissues MAJORLY and to go to the school office. Once I got to the school office, I got a huge hug from the lady there and she helped me through it. She gave me water and a wet cloth to put on my face. She had panic attacks before also, so she gave me great advise. I layed down on the couch in the office so I could lef my thoughts wander and I could also restart. Then, my headmaster, who is also my neighbor, helped me to organize my thoughts and that really helped. What I would like to know is if I should consider taking medication for my anxiety or continue with my breathing patterns?
