Hi All,
I just joined this group.I have had panic attacks. I was married for years to a bi polar alcoholic man. I suffered my first panic attack in my late 40s after 13 years married to that insanity. I got out of there. I was treated with clonezepam and coping counseling. I have not had a panic attack since. Except a couple of withdrawal events form the drug that helps. I am going to run out of the drug tomorrow. My doctor on vacation. I want off the drug and from what I read it bites back and causes the problem it helped to begin with.
I have found this often true of most medication I have been prescribed. I do not tolerate prescribed drugs well.
Water pills means more bloating. no blood pressure issues when I got off of the blood pressure medication. I did have some withdrawal when getting off of the other two drugs. This drug from what I read and experienced is quite a different beast. I did have issues when I went ran out of the drug before. After some days without it.
I have remarried to a wonderful man. I work from home and an accountant bookkeeper. I love my job and find the work relaxing. My husband is Indian and I will be relocating to India this year. I am listening now to some hindu music and find it relaxing. My husband has taught me to chant. We are apart due to Canada insane laws. I look forward to going to live in India esp after this last winter. The chanting apparently is great for helping anxiety. I will be living in Mumbai right on the Arabian Sea. Nice sea air and no lack of sun. A nice supportive husband.
I want to be completely off clonzepam. Has anyone gone off of it without severe withdrawal issues? Tonight as I joined and posted. I am still on the dose 0.5 mg twice a day. I did go down from 0.5 mg three times a day without a lot of issues. Trying to go down below that seems to be much more difficult.
I think it is mostly fear about the panic attack hitting my biggest demon. I am not on any other drugs except a mild thyroid medication. Other then the panic attacks I have no other mental health issues. Has anyone quite cold turkey and not had any bad withdrawal issues?

I have not been on benzos in years but I can tell you that meditation can help nearly anything. You have to practice it when you aren't overly anxious to master the process, then it can help you learn to pace the anxiousness down. Its a hard thing to learn at first. Try going to youtube and watching a meditation video.
