Vent Scream Yell and Medicate Your Anxiety Away! Community Group
A group for those who suffer from generalized anxiety disorder who choose to use medication to help them manage their symptoms. If you dont use medication that's ok, it is also a "safe haven" where you can say what is on your mind without the fear of the post being taken down by moderators. The only rule is that there will be NO posts regarding the negatives of...
How are you doing? Is the Abilify still working? I'm glad your doctor finally prescribed it for you. Sorry I'm just replying but I hadn't been to this group in a long time. Apparently not too many people come here very often. I'll try to make it here more. You've been so good about responding to my posts.
I know what you mean about switching doctors. Even though I'm not totally happy with her, it seems more stressful to find a new one. I have an appt. on July 2nd - and if it goes well, I'll stay with her for now.
I also know how you feel about being controlled by the disorder. I have so much anxiety and worry every single day. I read how people say that they learned to get better and I just don't understand it because sometimes seems the older I get the worse I get.
I can't say I feel what it's like to have bipolar disorder however with my condition I'll have a really good day where I'm really hyper, talkative, good mood and want to go out and do a lot or get a lot done at home, then the next day, WHAM, I don't even want to take a shower. I'm not really depressed but I just feel really lazy. I wish they had something out there that didn't have side effects or had very mild ones that I could take on a daily basis that would make me feel like doing stuff everyday instead of having maybe one or 2 good days out of a week.
Well, hope you are feeling better and know I'm here thinking of you!
I'm so glad Abilify is working and I hope it keeps working!
I just did a little research and I finally have a word for what every anti-depressant has done to me the last few times I tried them. Akathisia -- I never knew what to tell my doctors except that they made me feel really bad so couldn't take them. Now I can tell my doctor at my next appt. next week.
But the thing is they didn't always do that to me. I guess I'll ask her why they didn't do that to me in the beginning but now they do, even in really tiny doses. I wish they worked for me because I think I might have more energy or just might want to do more. I'm so tired so much of the time.
Thank you for your friendship sugar.
Hugs!
