hello there,i am new to this situation i am a 57yr old hgv driver,or i was three months ago.i work for a scaffolding company,delivering and picking up scaff gear mostly from london ,quite often loading the wagon by hand.so after doing this for 11yrs or more,i started to feel tired on a daily basis,i put it down to my age,and the building pressure of feeding a loaded wagon round the marble arch roundabout ,whilst avoiding the buses cyclists ,taxis and the diliveroo nutters on mopeds.but then i started to collapse on site ending up in hospital.the first time was completely out of the blue,i was talking to someone .next minute i just lost all the strength in my body and went down.it was a hot day i was working hard , at the hospital i was told basicly to take more water.i didnt feel this was right i had aweek off work to recover,i saw my doctor he said i probably had a virous.anyway i went back to work for three days,feeling back to normal.then i drove a wagon to site,didnt feel good when i arrived,the scaffolder came up and said you dont look right,the next second i was on the floor still talking to him. i ended up in northwick park hospital for 3weeks, the first operation they did was to take my licence away.to be fair they put me through mri ,chest xray,ecg, eeg 24 tapetest on the heart then discharged me. i had to go back to hospital to have a seven day tape monitor fitted ,that went back on 14/8 /17,still waiting for the results,they gave me a rough diagnosis of vasvagal syncope.i havr learnt the signals now so i dont actualy pass out so often ,if the feeling comes on i sit down drink some water and wait for it to wear off,but sometimes i feel drained and not myself for days at a time, i have not been able to work since 26th june ,i realy need a firm diagnosis so that i can move on and get on with my life.the only thing keeping me together is my wife and my rc planes,even that is getting dodgy,i flew a little yak this morning for no more than ten minutes,and the concentration was enough to bring on the symptoms,i didnt collapse but this broke my heart anyway as the planes are the last part of my life i have any control of,dont get the wrong idea i dont realy get deppressed thank god,i get the raving ump,that is about all.you mentioned a clinic you went to and got a firm diagnosis,where wast that,, anyway sorry for the long letter and my appaling spelling,after all you dont get many rocket scientists driving lorrys all the very best tigermoth
