Feeling Alone and Frustrated with my Incontinence.

Hello Everyone,
I know I've brought this up before, but I just get embarrassed and feel alone on some days. I also don't know if people see my posts as they get older on here as I didn't see many replies.
I am 28 and still wet the bed at night and have problems with my brain getting the signal to go to the bathroom during the day. I often don't know until it's too late. Even though setting an alarm helps, I still have to wear GoodNites (pull ups) during busy days or NorthShore Supreme medical diapers at night. I've basically had this problem my whole life and got more embarrassed after high school when the pull ups stopped working and I had to switch to bulky medical diapers at night.
I know it's not my fault since I have a lot of medical conditions that affected my development. (Hydrocephalus, brain bleed from being born premature, spine/nerve issues) I also have Autism and Tourette's Syndrome, but I just feel like I'm the only one.
Is there anyone else with similar experiences?
I appreciate everyone in helping me feel less alone in dealing with my medical conditions.

I've just been updating my profile information because I had a birthday last week, and so I'm now 25 instead of 24. It doesn't feel any different though!Just so you all know a bit about me: I suffer with anxiety and occasional panic attacks, and sometimes I do an accidental wee in bed while I'm asleep. Now I'm a year older than this time last week I can report that nothing has changed, although...

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...

I'm Cassie. I'm an 18 year old who has the same issues you have too. I've had just about 24 hour incontinence pretty much my entire life. I'm still 24/7 but have had times where I was better during the day and times where I was worse. I've pretty much grown up wearing pull ups to diapers. I'm still wearimg diapers to bed and during the day frequently. I do wear pull on type diapers, pull ups during the day mostly. The ones I'm using theses days are Northshore Mega Max and Rearz adult diapers. I wear Tena pull ups mostly during the day and around the house. For work I do wear a diaper though.
I'm constantly frustrated by my inco problems but have learned it's somethimg I'll have to just live with. I do not have Tourette or autism but my cousin does have down syndrome. My bladder issues are due to pelvic muscles being deformed and the nerves down there not fully functioning properly.
You are not alone. There's more out there like you with the same problems
Tag me or respond and I'll try toget back to you quickly.
Im Ben and it's embarrassing to admit this but its like my brain doesn't get the signal to my bladder and bowels til the last second (or at all at night). So I've always had to wear GoodNItes during the day and use bathroom timer reminders every hour. (which helps). I don't get the signal at all at night, so I have problems with bedwetting (and bowel accidents at night sometimes.) I wear Northshore supreme at night ever since GoodNites leaked in high school. (they do help better with bowel accidents and they don't leak but I get embarrassed because they are bulky.)
I just get embarrassed and frustrated certain times. It helps a lot to know Im not alone though and I really appreciate these groups.
Sorry I haven't responded sooner. For some reason this site isn't great at letting us know there are new post.
As you can see, there are others out here, younger and older than you are that have the same problems. Yes, most guys are very embarrassed to let others know they can't control their bladder and or bowels. For those that are true friends they will understand and do what they can to help you.
As for your protection being bulky, sometimes that is the best to use for your issues. I have found that if I wear a larger size pants and longer shirts. The ones that Cassie has noted are great for wetting and even messes. they do get bulky but they do hold lots of pee and have great standing leak guards.
Since you have been dealing with this all your life, the main thing to keep in mind that the diapers or pull-ups are just another type of underwear.
I had bedwtting problems as a child and occasionaly into my teens. As a child I wore terry nappies and plastic pants at night up to about aged 6 and was put into them again at boarding school when my bedwetting started again aged 10. As a teanager, I tried to hide it and used a towel as a nappy and cut leg holes in plastic bags as plastic pants. I would probably wet only once a week and could wash a towel out in the bath. From 16 I was reliably dry bar the occasional night after one too many beers. Jump forward 15 years and a spinal injury left me wetting the bed every night and over the next 35 years - and some three spinal operations later - my bladder problems increased to the point where I have no feeling of needing to go and am now wearing 'adult nappies' 24/7...and I could not be more comfortable with it. No drugs, no catheters that caused me regular urinary and kidney infections, just back in nappies and leading a normal and full life safe in the knowledge that I can manage my incontinence.
It used to make me really anxious and depressed rather than frustrated and when I was younger certainly impacted on forming relationships and I became very insular but as I became more confident in managing my incontinence and products improved that all changed.
I can generally go about four hours before needing a change - I use the TENA Slip Maxi Active fit all in one as I have found them to be the most absorbant and reliable. Having to carry spare nappies and change when at work or with friends can still be a bit anxious making. I am due to go into hospital for another back operation to deal with spinal stenosis and I do still find it embarrassing to have to ask the nursing staff to help me change when I am wet.
Good luck with everything, I found that when I accepted and, crucially, became confident in managing my incontinence, life changed very much for the better. I have been married to a wonderful person for 27 years and we have three wonderful grown up boys.
Stay positive. I hope this helps.
