its been a little over 2 years but when does the pain stop..this dont get any easier i was talking to a guy who had lost his wife after 54 years...i looked at him and said does it get easier ? he said how long? i said 33 years he said no, it gets worse...the pain is so real and can not quit thinking of her. People say maybe a new relationship its so hard to meet someone you feel so guilty and alone . so i thought i would try a support group of widows and widowers see if by chance they go thru the same thing how are people dealing with death being alone trying to start over ...HOW ..please help

I went to work one morning last August and came back home 5 hours later. My wife had passed no indication of feeling sick, no complaints just gone. I am told about it getting any better and I hear you don't ever get over it you learn how to live with it. You can't think about the next day you can only focus on the day your in. Taking on the future will drive you insane right now. Take it a day at a time and even break it down to an hour at a time if needed. I haven't made it to my first year yet but listening to those who have already been thru it really helps. The widow/widower board really helps and if you are Christian there is a widow/widowers of faith board. Both are really good with folks who have been on there for years. I am on both and they are great.
Peace, Tim
I'm also in the two groups that Tim57 mentioned, but I just found this group tonight. Although it will be 3 years this September that I lost Sam, he passed unexpectedly, and my world came crashing down. It just helps to know that others are walking with us on this journey. Thank you, everyone, for listening.
It's been 10 months since Joe passed. He drove out to his mom's one Sunday afternoon - August 2, 2015 (she lived 20 minutes out of town). Instead of him coming home, I had 2 police officers come to my door. I'm trying to put one foot in front of the other, but it's hard. I'm grateful that - like every time one of us left the house - we had our "see you later" kiss. We were together nearly 18 years. Not long enough.
Peace, Tim
