Hello all, my daughter is 7yrs old, soon to be 8 in Feb. She was diagnosed w/ Turner's when she was 3 years old. She has been on growth hormone shots for about 2 years now with no side effects. Recently we went to the Dr. for some testing to check the levels of hormone from the shots. Well the results came back showing that she had too high amount of the hormone in her system. I asked the nurse what did that exactly mean. She said then this means the pituitary gland is producing its own growth hormone (as it should) and that the small amount of dosage that she is receiving from the shots is not really enough to help aid her in growth. So they had me take her off the hormone shots. There have been questions asked to me by her Endocrine doctor and her pediatrician if she does in fact have TS. The endocrine Dr. cannot find the paper work from the genetics Dr. stating she has this, let along the results.
At this point, I don’t know what to do or think. They told me that she didn’t have ovaries and wouldn’t be able to have babies, well i asked for a pelvic ultra sound, and she has 2 perfect ovaries and a perfect uterus.
What should be my next step? Confused and baffeled.
Hi I am a 23 year old who was diagnosed with turners at 11. I went through growth hormone shots which did help with my growth. It is common for girls diagnosed with turners to not develop ovaries normally, however, they still can. I would ask to have here retested for turners. There are two types of turners one where the full x chromosome is missing and the other type is where just a partial x chromosome is missing.
Please feel free to message me with any questions.

Hi I am Ella and I have turner sydrome. I have always been happy and healthy but here are my two peices of advice. Ask for growers hormone replacement therapy and to be referred to a fertility specialist. Under 18s with Turner syndrome can freeze there eggs and it can be done in the NHS . Ask about freezing eggs now as when she is older it will be too late. IVI London will be very helpful so ring them up and arrange a meeting of some sort xx
