Hi Elaine, I check in from time to time. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful son. It is a pain like no other. I lost my daughter at 38 weeks last year on Valentine's Day, then had a 10 week miscarriage 9 months later. I know the grief journey so well. Take your time and grieve however you feel you need to. For me, it was writing and researching and sharing. :)

Hi Elaine no one really uses this site I go on to it from time to time I had our first baby boy 12 months ago we decided 3 months later to TTC again and I had a miscarriage then I was told then to stop TTC for at least another 3mths and we are still TTC now but not getting anywhere so I say go for it you will know yourself when you are ready I don't know if we will ever be fully ready after going trough a stillbirth it's the hardest heartache I've ever experienced and nothing could ever prepare you for best of luck.

I just saw this post of mine from just weeks after we lost our son. That pain was so raw then. I was so desperate to bring home a healthy baby. I am happy to share with any mama's reading this that we got pregnant right away. And just 10 months and 22 days after losing Kowen we welcomed our healthy rainbow baby girl in the world. It was a long scary pregnancy but I am so thankful we took that chance! We still miss our son everyday and my heart still aches for him. We talk about him all the time and his little sister will grow up knowing all about him. I know that he helped her make it safely into this world to fill his mama's empty arms.
Our rainbow baby is almost 10 months old and we are trying again to bring home another healthy baby, I know it will be another long scary road but I am hopeful we will be able to once again bring home a healthy baby.

Hello Elaine, that's an amazing story I'm happy for you and your family. I lost my baby girl last month on December 18, 2016. I was almost 34 weeks pregnant. I recently found out what rainbow baby means and I'm glad rainbow babies can bring joy again to families that have lost their babies. I won't be trying to conceive my rainbow baby anytime soon, my fiancé and I were told by our ob to wait a year to 18 months. It seems like a century but in the meantime I am still grieving my baby and occasionally enjoying rainbow baby stories.

Thank you so much, I am so sorry for the loss of your baby girl :( do you know what went wrong? With Kowen the dr's were never able to confirm a cause but my heart tells me it was the tdap vaccine I recieved 4 days before his heart stopped. Again I am so sorry you are going through this I remember so vividly how raw the pain was at that point and I can tell you it changes. It hasn't gone away but it's definitely different. Sending prayers for strength to you and your hubby!

You're welcome and thank you for your prayers. I had a very healthy pregnancy and just out of nowhere I had a placental abruption. When we were at the hospital the doctors and nurses couldn't detect my baby's heartbeat. It is still hard for me to believe that this has happened. I will never understand why this happened to us or anyone else.

Trap vaccine? Our sweet Ian was born asleep on 08/08/2017 at 36 wks.. had my trap a few weeks before and I'm wondering if it had anything to do with it. We also have no answers other then "sometimes these things just happen."

Your rainbow baby story gives me hope and inspiration. I lost my son @ 31 weeks in Oct 17 and probably won’t be trying until the new year on doctor’s advice to wait until a regular period cycle re-establishes. The fear of miscarriage and another stillbirth will linger I’m sure but I think at least all the medical teams are on higher alert to our paranoia given the history, rather than brushing us off as first time parents.

Somehow I found myself back on here again, we are just weeks away from Kowen’s 4th birthday in heaven and we miss him everyday it definitely gets harder this time of year. I am happy to say we were able to bring home another healthy rainbow baby and now have a healthy 3 year old daughter and 18 month old son. I am so thankful for them every single day . I know our baby in heaven helped them get here safely! Praying for all of you that life has brought you some joy in the midst of all this pain.
