How do I get past the fear of it happening again?

I am 6 weeks pregnant and a couple of months ago I had a missed miscarriage.I was 11 weeks and I had just gone for a regular checkup but when they tried to find a heartbeat there was none.They did and ultrasound and saw that the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks.Me and my husband were heartbroken its was so hard and now after a couple of month we are pregnant again.Of course me and my husband are very happy but there is always that fear in my mind that it will happen again.The doctor said the baby stopped developing because something was wrong and when something is not forming right it stops growing.I pray that my babay will be ok but I am so scared that when I go for my check up in two weeks it will happen again.Has anyone gone through this and gotten pregnant again?

I also had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks unfortunately ttc has not been successful yet so I'm not quite in your situation but hope to be soon praying for a successful pregnancy for you.

I have suffered 3 miscarriages. first one at 6wks in February 2009, second one at 6wks in January 2010, and my most recent on at 18w5d on July 29, 2011. We are currently 24wks pregnant with a little boy who is healthy and strong!

I am about to start my second round of fertility treatments. Got pregnant the first time, and miscarried. Just like you. went in for an ultrasound check-up only to find no growth and no heartbeat. Just heard from my fertility clinic that I can do another artificial insemination in july. I'm not quite where you are yet, but I'm already terrified that our next round will end the same way.

One of my close friends went through exactly the same thing. Her medical status was very complicated, but after two miscarriages, she had a very healthy pregnancy later the same year and now has a lovely little boy who just turned 2. So it can happen. I hold to the story of her journey for strength and inspiration, and thought I'd share it with you too. It can happen. Don't lose hope!
