Hi, I hope to connect with some parents in here whose child is dating a transgender person.  My son just told my husband and myself that he's now dating a pre-op transgender female who also has borderline personality disorder (BPD).  Don't get me wrong, I'm not judgmental of anyone in the LGBTQ community.  

We haven't met her as yet, and I'm hoping to meet her soon.  But I do have questions and apparently she gets offended if you mention anything about it.  How do I approach this?  I don't want her to feel bad and that she can't talk to me about anything.  I have many friends and family who are members of the LGBTQ community. My son knows I love him and no matter what he choses, I'm behind him 100%.  But he's also talking about moving in with her after only a month of dating.  He met her online.  I'm more concerned with that than I am with the fact that she's t/g MtF.  Is there anyone on her who can give me some advice on how to deal with all this?  It's all still a little overwhelming.  While I'm all about my kids being happy and that's basically all that matters.  It's the stigma that goes along with it.  I want to protect him, naturally, I guess I'm still in shock over the whole thing.  I really have no one to talk to about all this as all my family will be thinking he's gay as they are all a bunch of small town hicks with their heads up their asses and would not understand that's not what it's about.

Can someone please give me some advice, I'm hurting here.
