I guess, for me, it's just another day.
When we lived near my family we used to take part in a big family and friend picnic every year on mother's day, which was always fun. Lots of food, and people, and music. I miss it so I try not to think about it I guess. When my son's first communion fell on Mother's day my mother said something like too bad it was on such a bad weekend with the picnic and all. I already felt guilty to invite them to travel so far, but with that comment I felt that she was telling me "please don't ask me... I don't want to have to miss the picnic". I know that's what she was saying so i didn't ask and they didn't come. My inlaws came. We had fun and all went out to dinner together. To this day I regret not asking her to make a choice. I thought I was being kind to her, but what about my son? I just would have thought she would have said.... tell me where and when... we'll be there. The picnic happens every year.... this is special.
Sorry to be depressing. You asked.
Just another day.
If my husband and children happen to remember I'll be glad...sometimes they do... my favorite thing is to have breakfast in bed! They haven't done that in a while, and anyway I just used the last egg to make breakfast! If I want breakfast in bed I had better do some shopping, ehy? LOL!
