Hi,
A week ago, I collapsed on the floor unconscious and my fiance couldnt rouse me and said I was drifting in and out of consciousness so he called 911. I remember nothing about being in the ambulance or the ER, but according to my fiance, when I came to at the ER, I was very confused and I couldn't use my left arm. The doctor performed tests on me physically and I did pretty good except that I had no use of my left arm. They automatically suspected a stroke and sent me for a ct scan. It was normal. The doctor said I did not suffer a stroke but I might have had a mini stroke. I was discharged and went home and straight to bed.
The next morning I woke up and when I stood up I noticed my left arm was severely weak and I could not use it, and when I tried to walk, I had to drag my leg because it was weak too. I woke up my fiance and I was slurring my speech and got scared, and my fiance noticed that half my mouth was drooping when I tried to talk. So he called the ambulance again and I sat on the floor from weakness.
When I got to the ER, the doctor came in the room and didnt check me. He accused me of faking!!! I was pissed! He wanted to admit me psychiatricly! I told him off and went home, and my fiance had to carry me. I spent the day crying in bed because I couldnt use my arm or leg. But that quickly resolved on its own within 24 hours of everything happening. I was relieved when I had use of my left arm and leg again and regained my speech completely.
A few days later, I went to a TIA clinic and got blood work done and saw a nurse who asked me about my experience and then sent me home. I had to follow up 2 days later. I went back to the TIA clinic and an intern (not a neurologist) did some physical tests on me and emmediately said "Nope, you didnt have a stroke or TIA and you can go home now" I was beside myself........
I went to my family doctor and she read the ER reports and saw that the doctor accused me of faking everything, and she accused me of faking too!!! No one believes me except for my fiance and family! I am not a faker and now I am concerned because I know that a TIA is a warning that a stroke may be in the near future!

I so understand how you feel, although I didn't get told I was faking. That would be so horrifying. But, I keep having weird episodes, which I believe are ministrokes. One time I couldn't walk for 15 minutes after my episode. My left leg still lags a tinge from time to time. If I know there is going to be a lot of walking, I have to use a wheelchair. I cannot use a motorized one or a self controlled one because my arms are too weak. About a month and a half ago I had four episodes in one week than my left arm felt broken. It hurt so bad to move it. So bad!!! I went to the ER and it wasn't broken, which I knew. I have had MRI of brain and neck, aside from my neck being a mess, no stroke or seizure activities. Had an EEG and it was normal. It took over a week before I gained full use of my atm again. It still hurts when I move it a certain way. On the outside I look normal, but in the inside I am a mess. This all started after several accidents. Anyway, these episodes sure leave ones mind in a fog and frustrated. It usually takes about a week or more to recover from each episode. Still haven't fully recovered from those four and last Friday I had two in one day! I was such a mess that day! Smh

Anyway, just hang in there. It does get tough to deal with, but you seem like a very strong individual. Keep looking up!
