Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) consists of a group of distinct disorders that affect the nerves in the brachial plexus (nerves that pass into the arms from the neck) and various nerves and blood vessels between the base of the neck and armpit.
I hope you found something that helps. If not, have you tried trigger point injections or dry needling of scalenes, SCM, trapezius, etc? Way less invasive than surgery. I have learned that not all providers who offer these services do it the same way or are effective as other providers.
Or have you considered Botox by a neurologist/neurosurgeon?
First, I know you can negotiate costs. The provider / hospital may have a financial assistance program or point you to some resources. If all that fails, maybe a church would help? Also, I don't know anything about this program, but you might want to try them:
