work talk station WIIFM (what is in it for me?) Community Group
I decided some of us have part time work or other reasons we are still out in the workforce and it seems best to have a group to share our little issues or joys with about working....you can come here to share when your going to be going to work if your part time and it will help us know what is going on with your working situations....you can share anything here about...
work talk WIIFM (whats in it for me?)....
I work part time and find it is something I share too much about in my journals....so today I thought about group created to talk about work...challenges, schedules, relationships....problems...successes? what ever it is....for now I only invited a few of us here because I am not really sure who is working that I am friends with except a couple of you I am sure might be interested....if your friends here are working and would like to try this group it is here and I hope it grows....
my work is Independent contractor job as a shuttle driver for a tour company....I drive the oddest schedule in the work world I have ever known....because the tour company has to make plans for me I just accept or decline what is offered for jobs....which is really rare that I decline working...but I have....they have to scramble if I decide to decline...they use other companies outside the 3 drivers that they have as independent contractors to drive the company vehicles....I only have a picture of the one vehicle I drive the other guys both share the other vehicle but I am just working from the one below....
I enjoy my job which can sometimes be long odd hours in middle of night or day....driving is something I love to do and people who go on our tours are some nice people who have generaly gotten to retirement with money left to travel....we specialize in senior citizens with our tours.....anyway I am going to try just keeping this to work relations and stuff going on with me as I work....keep it out of my journals a bit I guess....

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I got back up from napping and see another email about a new trip that goes to Colorado to ride trains in the mountains....so I decided I am ok with working the shift it is a little different pick up locations for us because the tours are planned by banks that have us do their plans...
this trip is Sunday Sept 18th...I drive out to Columbia MO to a bank to pick up 3 people...the back to St. Louis and outskirt area still metro St. Louis but different county....St. Charles to pick up one to go to airport and drop them off....trip starts with me departing to get to columbia which is 2hour drive....so since I need to leave columbia by 9:15am I will get up at 5am drive to get the van 1/2 hour then drive two hours to columbia to be early....meet at the bank and when the 3 people are loaded with the luggage in trailer off we go to St. Charles...then pick up 1 load them off to airport about 20min or less drive from St. Charles....unload people then bags from trailer and let them go check in and meet the tour coordinator from Sunrise Tours who I work for....easy morning for me....
