I am holding my breath right now and will probably do so for the next week at least. My son is starting a new job tomorrow. Dad got him a job working at the turf company where he works -- and will be son's boss. All weekend we've heard, "Dad, what should I wear? Dad, what time are we leaving Monday? Dad, are these pants okay? Dad, where do I go to the bathroom when I'm working? Mom, will you take me to the grocery store so I can buy some Kool-aid for work? Gram, will you make me two sandwiches for work? I'm gonna be really hungry. Dad, how long does my shirt have to be? This long? This long? How about this long?"

He is clearly very excited yet anxious as well. When hubby told son about the job, son said, "Yes, I'm interested, but I don't want to disappoint you. I don't know if I can work that many hours every day." So sad, and yet at the same time, it shows that he is caring about somebody else's feelings -- or at least about how someone else feels about him. That's progress.

Hubby has told his boss and several of the other workers that son will be with all about son's bi. He also told son, "Don't worry. If you don't work out, I won't be disappointed; you just won't be able to work there anymore."

Sigh. I sooooooooooo hope this works out. My son absolutely, positively needs something to feel good about, something positive to put his efforts into, and just plain something to do with his time.
