I read in your post that your son does not want to take anything but speech therapy right now. My husband went through many therapies. But because he was so physically banged up, this took many months to heal & the doctor's concentrated on physical therapy first. My husband did not get the needed therapy for his BI until months after his accident...fault of the doctor's I feel!!! However, I also noticed that since my husband had a BI, he could not handle more then 1 or 2 therapies at a time...otherwise the therapies completely overloaded him as well & he couldn't deal with it. Since your son's accident was a only a few months ago, he might feel that all the therapies at once are too much for him. Let him do the therapy he feels comfortable with right now & maybe as he starts healing he can add another type when he feels he can handle more. Maybe his speech therapist can talk with him as well on the benefits of the other type of therapies.
Good luck, hang in there & welcome to our group!!!
