Well my son is finally after 4 years is getting in to see a neuro at UCSF next month. Not sure what they will be doing but hopefully the University Hospital will have some idea about TBI's. I would think our chances are better that they have worked with TBI patients many times since it is a teaching hospital/clinic.
We just seemed to have tried him on many different medications for the mood swings, migraines and seizures and all of them have side effects that he will not tolerate. We just are trying out Neurotin but I think my son has decided that one is making him do weird stuff and giving him stomach issues, so he is unwilling to try it now.
I am so tired of all these medication changes and stuff. I am bringing my basket full of meds that he is not taking with me to the new neuro doctor. I just hope that someone will have a plan for my son. I know they cant fix the brain but I want them to fix the headaches, seizures and mood swings.
He has been very depressed because he is feeling like a failure because he can not provide for his new baby. So he has had many meltdowns this last week. I am drained and dont even know what to say to him any more. Trying to find the words that he can understand or even hear me say is hard. He just does not listen when he is like that., so I just let him yell, scream and talk.
So at least I feel like I have a bit of good news regarding the doctor appt. I am going to be praying that something good happens for once because this mama needs that !
