i just find out today i am pregnant i am 42 years old i have 2 teenagers but that will be the first for my hubby and i am taking lexapro 25 mg my anxiety right now is so bad i was doing great when i knew i am pregnant my anxiety hit me again deep down i dont want kids anymore and specialy at this age i am crying shaking worried i dont know what to do please any advice by the way my hubby is happy and i went through miscarriage 3 years ago i didnt forget yet thank u friends.ps; is it ok to take sometimes xanax

My mom got pregnant when she was 45, and I was her youngest at the time, and I was 16, so I know where you are coming from. Try and calm down (I know this is hard) As of what to do, and your medication I can not give you any advice. That is for you to talk with your husband about, and the medication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. I do know that, before my mom had my little brother she was SO depressed. She was fighting depression very bad. When she found out she was pregnant it turned her world upside down. But now, my little brother is her life! He keeps her from being depressed. She wouldn't know what to do without him. She said if she could go back in time, and have the choice, she would do it all over again... because although scary it has changed her life for the better in many ways. Also, they say that women who have children after forty seem to live longer ... so thats a plus :) Good luck honey... I hope this helped!

Call your pharmasist they can be very helpful and know all there is to know about your situation! I often wonder what I would do if I got pregnant. NOBODY here would think less of you no matter what decision you make. You will be in my prayers.

Communication is the key to everything! Talk to your hubby, your kids, your doc or whoever! Take any and all advice then come to your own opinion!

More women have babies in their 40's now, but you need to talk things over with your hubby as the others have suggested.
Also, as a precaution talk to your doc about the medication.

CONGRATULATIONS. I'm 42 also and if I found myself pregnant again, I'd be shocked but grateful that God has given me another challenge. Check with your pdoc about taking your meds, or taking more than you are prescribed. You and your husband deserve this blessing. 42 is young and many women are having children later in life. This sounds like very difficult news for you i hope that you can find the support you need is ther a therapist near by. This seems very upsetting im confident you can cope together. Hug
