I've never been one to drink water. I'm one who doesn't like the taste. Lately I've been making myself drink more water. I can tell an amazing difference! I think even with my pain! I've been doing things the last two days that I knew would cause me to be down for several days afterwards....I'm not!!! Could it really be because I have been drinking a lot more water?!
Blood, muscles, lungs, and brain all contain water. You need water to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to your organs and tissues. It also helps transport oxygen to your cells, removes waste, and protects your joints and organs. Taking in too litter water or losing too much water leads to dehydration. Symptoms of mild dehydration include thirst, pains in joints and muscles, lower back pain, headaches and constipation.
The body can hold on to water when you don't have enough or get rid of it if you have too much. If your pee has ever been very light yellow, your body might have been getting rid of excess water. When your pee is very dark yellow, it's holding on to water, so it's probably time to drink up
Here's 12 Reasons to drink more water:
1. Healthy skin
2.Flush toxins
3. Reduce risk of heart attack
4. Cushion and lube your joints
5. Reduce muscle cramps
6. Get energized
7. Stay regular
8. Reduce risk of disease and infection
9. Regulate your body temperature
10. Burn fat and build muscle
11. Headache remedy
12. Get well....when your sick, water will speed up recovery.
Many people complain that they don’t like the taste of water, or that it is boring to drink! Try these tips for making drinking water an enjoyable process:
Add fresh mint leaves, slices of strawberry, apple, lemon, or lime to a pitcher of water. Serve chilled. Keep a pitcher of “fruit water” in the refrigerator so you always have great-tasting water available.
- Try Glaceu Fruit Water, which is distilled water with added fruit essence, without added sugar or artificial sweeteners. It is available at most health food stores. It comes in a variety of fabulous flavors including, watermelon, honeydew melon, raspberry/lime, and strawberry/banana.
- Drink herbal teas. Herbal teas have a variety of healing properties and come in a multitude of flavors. Try green tea, yerba matte, chai, chamomile, mint, raspberry leaf, and cinnamon/apple. In the summer time you can serve them over ice. In winter, drink them hot. Yogi Tea is one of my favorite brands.
- Add a squeeze of lemon or lime to water. Warm water with the juice of 1 lemon taken in the morning on an empty stomach is a great liver detoxifier, and has been shown to aid in weight loss.

be careful b/c many still add artificial sweeteners. i like smart water with electrolytes when it's on sale. then i reuse (bad) the bottles for herbal teas. never put hot water in plastic though.
and any fruit is great in it...i filter mine rather than add more bottles to landfills.
glad you mentioned this. it get the toxins out, the chemicals from meds and all other things we're inundated with chemicals in everything.
thanks for posting!
Wend. I rearranged my bedroom....I thought for sure the next day I would be laid up for a week or more. Amazingly I wasn't.
Yesterday I put together a Entertainment center and cleaned the living room, did some rearranging.... again, I just KNEW I would be laid up in bed today! But I wasn't!
Could it really be the water making such a difference? I'm not totally convinced yet , but at the same time I can't believe I'm not in horrible pain today. It's there, and I'm sore but nothing like I thought it would be!!!
I can't believe I don't go on about this on here...my family gets tired of hearing me say it...hydrate..hydrate..hydrate.
I don't get the kidney and bladder infections like I use to.
Thanks for posting all of this insightful information about water. Makes me think that I should be drinking more of it. Of course, I always knew it was good for you, but I just can't seem to drink it. The only liquid I really drink is coffee when I first wake up and in the evening I might have iced tea or an occassional vanilla coke.
Hugs,
Carrie
I know the water supply has to be treated to make it safe, but how can something that smells and tastes like a swimming pool, possibly be good for you? If they have to add that much to the water to pass inspection, what the hell was in it before?
When doctors over the years would ask if I drank enough water, I would always tell them I drank plenty, but I like to run it through the coffeemaker first! Now....I drink about a gallon a day on top of what goes through the coffeemaker! I should feel better than I do....grrrrr.
I was never so happy as the day they came out with double roll toilet paper....
