Hi buddies!
I feel the need to write this. Not to pole you guys into having to write words of encouragement and to gain sympathy, but to let you know that I read your posts everyday and to explain my absense from writing more in this forum.
My job situation is really taking a toll on my sense of self and levels of stress. This has happened to me over and over again in my career and I have to be sure that I don't lose myself in self pity and doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons.
As an update, the job close to home didn't work out because it was for a more junior position and paid too little. I figure that my current company is paying me the same wage, regardless of this unfair demotion so I will move less desperately in trying to find a job elsewhere.
It is so hard for me to come in everyday as this 'firestarter' lies, cheats and agressively tears apart all that I worked so hard for. It's hard to be professional and mature when inside I want to scream and shout at so many people for their ignorance and egosentric pettiness. One injustice after another ensues and I have to remain calm.
So I took this week off, slipped in the request the last day before my beloved boss left, so no one could say no and they are not prepared for me to be away for a week. Too bad when they need my help as the helpful, dedicated Angela had checkout out. This week I'm working on getting a new job, stop obsessing about the injustice to me, and doing some quiet oil painting or gardening in the midst of it all.
Waiting for that 'window to open', as the philosophers say should happen.
I wouldn't be suprised if this ass gets his own office while I'm away. A reward for bad behavior. I wonder why this happened and if I could have done anything to stop it. I did discover last week that my recommendation to dismiss him at 3 months would not have gone through. The wheels had already been set in motion against me long before he was hired. But why?!
I worry that my next job will be yet again a repeat of the same situation but with different players. I question so much.
So, anyways, my friends. I am here and reading your posts and my thoughts are with love and respect for you all. But I don't feel much like socializing. Until I see something good happen, I don't want to be the wet blanket to this group, so I will just remain quiet until the wheel turns in my favour.
Heartfelt hugs to you all and thank you for your continued support
Love Angela

Good morning.81 and climbing this afternoon. Joanne I hope you and Mario had a lovely wedding anniversary! Sounds like a very worthwhile treat :-)There was just the 4 of us at ours at Bromley registry office. Yeah if there's a huge fire all crew at fire stations in the area and outside the area if needed will be called in to help. Doug and I bought a walking treadmill. I did 45 minutes...

I wish you only the best, and a hug for you from me.
Sandy
i hate the politics aspect of most workplaces, but it is what it is.
stay strong. i know you're great at what you do and you care, which is so hard to find these days.
sending supportive hugs!
Love, hugs and clucks...
If you find a better job where people will treat you and your experience and hard work like you deserve to be treated then go for it, don't worry that the "assholes" who are destroying your current workplace will be duplicated.
Take care,
Kat
You are not a wet blanket. You are someone in pain from an injustice and just needing to recoup and redefine your self worth according to employment.
Have you ever considered working with am employment agency? My granddaughter is a manager where many of her clients are " middle aged " post employees needing money last week. Degrees, not degrees, years of experience, losing out because of.........she said it doesn't matter. Her agency does provide health insurance. There are a many agencies and it might take a few phone calls.
Just a thought. I hope with all my heart you find the energy to find the perfect fit.
Hugs,
Joanne

Dix, you are NEVER a downer to us. We love you for starting this Hen House so we can all share. Thank you so much!!
Kat, I'm so sorry that you are going through a similar rough time, if not worse. This is going to be the year we overcome adversity and struggle, Kat.
Joanne, I do have my name in a few Employment Agencies so I'm hoping they can come up with something. Here, they just help you look and then they get a finders fee.
Love you guys.....
