I have spent so many years counselling boy scouts to be good citizens, do well in school, make a positive mark in life. Now I am getting to see the harvest from all my work. A young man that I met as he was beating up another scout was married today to a wonderful girl and he is a minister at a small church. I was honored to be invited to his wedding, to celebrate the positive in his life. It is so cool to know that by pointing out a better direction to a kid and he took it and is now succeeding.
One of those days when you realize the time you donated did make a difference.
Now I am home trying to keep the flooding water out of my house. 2 inches from my back door :( One tornado went by 6 miles from me. My husband's digging trenches trying to keep the water out. Wish us luck.
i pray that the water stays at bay - may a hedge of protection be around your property. sorry you have to deal with that. please, let that water recede.
it's been a fairly rough day. i can't categorize any more. i have the feeling if i were an animal i would have been put down.
i made it through sunday school and walked home b/c i couldn't deal with the idea another hour with all the standing, sitting. i hate asking to people to leave and my hip needed this, i think.
i washed the dishes, napped, printed bank statements for apt mgr. and painted my nails - over 8 hours.
just can't carry gallon bottles out to water plants.
packed up vitamins for week.
not asking for sympathy, but that sux and i'm just too tired of this being a day.
hope others had a better day!!
Serenity I'm sorry your day didn't go so well, Hugs for you too.
RJ...how lovely to see the results of your kindness and direction to a child. I believe most people just wonder if the things they said and did made a diference. Fingers crossed that the trenches work.
Serenity...awww, hon. Sorry you hurt so much.
Dix...I figured out why you put the same date two days in a row...Romeo forgot to crow this morning, right? Even your boys forgot to fight! Yay!
I've been wanting to drive to Walmart for months and finally decided to just do it. It's about a 35 minute drive from my house. I got an early start and it was just the right temperature. By the time I got there, I had trouble getting out of the car and walking. I've been having some awful pain in my hip, legs and feet lately and this trip really finished me off. I got my shopping done while leaning on the cart, trying not to look conspicuous.
I managed to get the car loaded and then realized that I hadn't replaced the Fentanyl patch that I removed this morning and I had gone over 7 hours since my Oxy...I usually do 4. You can guess how the rest of my day has been. There was just no catching he pain after that.
I'll get it right in the morning..............I hope!
RJ, So glad that you were invited to the wedding and that you were able to see what a positive young gentleman your scout turned out to be. That must have been such a great feeling! I pray that the water recedes. That must be very scary. I have never dealt with flood waters where I live in Ohio. although it is a problem in some parts. Please keep us posted.
Serenity, I am so sorry that you had such a bad day with your pain. I hope that tomorrow is definitely a better day for you!
cherry, Oh my, no wonder you were hurting so bad! It is a wonder that you even made it to WalMart, let alone completed your shopping. I pray that your meds kick in and that you have a better day tomorrow.
The good in my day is always spending it with my kids, however, the fatigue I feel all the time finally got the best of me and I slept from around 1:30am-11:30am and this was AFTER I had taken a 3 hour nap earlier in the evening. When I woke up today, I felt more rested than I had in a long time. Enjoyed my morning coffee and played my Sims 3 game all day long.
It's hard to believe that another weekend has passed us by. Hope that everyone has a good week!
Hugs,
Carrie
