I agree about changing the name of this thread. I've had such a string of horrible days and nights that I can't always pull a'good' out of it. I have a lot of things to report, but it's killing me to sit here so I'll probably do it in installments!
Ok...gotta stop for a breather, but I'll be back...
Leo went to the groomer on Monday, he acted funny all day yesterday. He barely moved and when I was trying to help him get up, he yelped in pain. After he reluctantly ate dinner, he started limping then he couldn't walk. He finally got onto his favorite couch and I had a glumpse of his poor belly.
He had been licking it and his foot...the reason he couldn't walk. I called his Vet who also a friend and she stopped in this afternoon to take a look. When she tried to look at his belly, my precious little dog turned into a wild man and really snapped at her.
He got on a different couch and I was able to calm him with a gentle touch and she got a good look. Turns out the groomer shaved a big area of his belly right down to bare skin and left a big gouge. He has a huge hotspot now. The Vet had brought some spray to use on it and it gave him quick relief.
He has to take 2 pills a day and I have to spray te area a few times. His toenails were cut too short and his poor foot hurt so much that he's also licked that like crazy. Poor little man...he looks sick and even his eyes are runny. I'm supposed to watch carefully to see if it spreads and then he'll need oral anti biotics, too. If she'd known how bad it was, she'd have brought some today.
I'm pretty disgusted. I've been bartering with this groomer for a few years and she usually does a good job. She recently left her Husband because she just doesn't know what she wants. She chased him down and was after him to marry her for a few years. He's a really good guy and they've only been married about 3 years. She's been going a little wild with the partying and I'm wondering if that was the root of the problem!
I have to let her know what she did.
something is in the air - penny is fine, but overwhelmed with the heat - hiding in the coolest spot in the apt. i just can't run AC all day.
i basically hid out today and bit by bit cleaned out fridge and did a few other things, sneezed a box full of kleenex, found out a year's worth of photos were missing (looking for my egg photos), sent my nephew a birthday card and wrote out a check to find my new checks were mis-numbered so now i have to put #X-a,b,c)...only a few more weeks of 100 degrees.
the good: i made a card since i did find some lovely photos of a great creek in the smokies. ate halfway well. stayed fairly well ahead of pain.
let us say good bye to today! hoping and praying your babies are alright.
Sorry to hear about both situations. It infuriates me when our babies are not treated properly. In my kitty's case, she gets excellent care from both the vet and the emergency vet I take her to. I wish I could get such good care for myself!
Please keep us updated on the kitties and Leo. I hope all is well with them soon.
Hugs for them all and for you.
I had a bad day at work, and to top it off, someone smashed my little car with their big dodge ram and then drove off. Instead of spending my evening in the garden, I spent it with the police and on the phone. I do need to look for the good in my day and read your good stuff too.
The good of the day was that I wasn't in the car at the time.
Here's something good...my Vet is such a good friend that she didn't charge me a thing for the housecall and when I asked what I owed for the doggie meds, she said we'd work it out since she was about read to need a hair trim! Money is so tight that it was truly a gift for her to do that. It's not the first time, either.
....and no apologies needed for wandering off my idea of a path. I'm not the boss.
I so hope you are feeling better today, Cherry.
cherry, you aren't at fault. it was just a rough day. i'm glad you friend was so nice! we get so upset when furry babies are hurt.
a friend and i used to exchange emails of the our good (God) moments of the day.
