when i can't i like the CBS sunday morning show bc they do more in depth stories, then i hope for good old movies on TCM, a walk. sundays do seem to stretch out more than most days. trying to get my head in order for the upcoming week...leftover from working days. checking calendar and making tentative plans to balance strenuous days with rest. of course, we all know that goes awry.
i agree, it can seem like a very lonely day. not sure if that's of any help, but i do understand. hope it's a good day for you tomorrow.
Tomorrow I'm going grocery shopping and I'm going to cook a good dinner for myself and dad. If my body shows up, lol. If not then I'll just sit here and watch movies.
All my favorite prime time shows are in rerun due to having their season finales or went off the air (Desperate Housewives). So now I have to figure out what I want to watch. I have a bunch of shows recorded, so maybe I'll watch them!
Gentle hugs,
Jenna
hope it's a good day for you. call a friend and chat, paint your nails, put on a nice, but comfy outfit just to make it feel special...
Like scheduling a home pedicure, having a picnic dinner at the beach, or making phone calls to people I haven't talked with in a while on Sunday. It helps keep it a day that is always something to look forward to.
My body hurts too much to take a walk and my neck, shoulder and arm are burning with pain. I shouldn't be trying to type until my meds kick in. It's just aggravating things.
Anyway, my drapes are closed to keep my bedroom cool and I'm basically hiding from the world. I think I need my antidepressant increased!
this is totally out of my range of normal and i keep having to sit down a lot. with hubby on 6 days a week, i just suck every last moment of sleep out of the weekends. for my body and for my mind. it's my favorite escape, when it's working out... the sleeping, that is. the constant movement related pain calms down, the insanity of living (feels like ALONE) with a four year old is forgotten and taken over by jon and i just turn into a vegetable. i used to craft more on the weekends since jon could supervise opal, but now i'm just forced to recharge my batteries and let monday come and wash over me. by tuesday i'm a pretty darn good mom again.
actually, as much as i like the weekend for all of the escapist benefits, i'm always troubled with a slight sense of guilt as i feel like i have abandoned my family. then i step in and defend myself with the idea that opal misses her daddy all week and it's ok if they go to the park without me or take a trip to her uncle's house without me. overall, since having to switch to my own bed, i have to admit that the weekends can and do make me more aware of the separatist tides in our house even though our marriage is better than ever for me... (?)
oh yeah, and i think too much on the weekends. sometimes dream way too much.
and there's a really long answer to dixie's question, as usual. :)
i identify with the thinking too much. wondering, pushing. one reason i love to find a good movie, but it was all war movies today for the holiday.
the thinking and over-thinking followed by the rethinking has to be genetic because it's exactly the same for my father and the reason we both need sleeping pills.
i wish i could shut it off. tv can do the trick sometimes. i'm not patient enough for movies a lot of the time, but i live almost inside of pbs most weekends.
