this nagging cough woke me, but with cough med and honey in coffee it's better. i'm working on christmas cards and hope to make potato pancakes later. i have to borrow/buy a couple of eggs bc i don't use them much. more damp and cold weather that just makes me want to snuggle under the quilt with my heating pad, but i'm going to see how much i can push to do.
wishing all hens a mellow, low pain day. as a new saying on FB says, Don't panic, Nothing is under control!
Serenity - I made pot. pancakes yesterday! So yum- yum!
Weather here is frigid! It was 5 degrees when I went to bed last night. It is too early for that cold of temperatures. BRRR! I sure hated to put my toes on the floor this morning! :)
Like Dixie I am working at getting the clutter out of the house. Since the puppy has arrived I have had to remove all my pretties and what good are they stuffed in a drawer. So sorting out to keep the most precious and the the rest will go to the VFW or Amer. Legion for when they have a fund raiser 2nd best sale next summer.
Enjoy your day...do something to pamper yourself because YOU ARE WORTH IT!
Today I'll continue to decorate. Yesterday was a mess as my dishwasher was replaced. Took forever.
Hope tension lessons. I guess you just have to stand back
I use to tell hubby pick your battles. That helped.
Poinsettia dinner at the club tonight. Hope I can find my red blouse. Found my furry black ( fake) vest.
Pot pancakes, hum!
I find recipes on the Internet, so I must cancel my subscriptions, some day.
Stay warm
Hugs
Kim, I am so sorry that your family is going through all of this crap in your lives right now!
I sure hope that something works out for you soon… I will pray for you.
Serenity, Like I said earlier I just love potato pancakes!
I too have to get to those Christmas cards.
Joyce, It is always a great feeling when we get rid of the clutter in our homes. I myself have to do some organizing in my office!
Janie, Boy is sure is cold here too this morning. -3 when I got up about 4am.
Congrats on the new dishwasher… it is always great to get something new but taking out the old is such a pain!
As for me, we had my grand daughters birthday party yesterday and did some shopping after…boy that sure took a toll on me even with using the wheel chair. I was glad to get home!
Today I was going to have a friend over to watch the Packers game but we have been getting snow since early this morning and it would be an hour drive for her so instead I am going over to my father in laws to watch the game and set up a small table top tree that I picked up for him.
My DH went to the game with his guy friends so I wanted to make some plans of my own and my FIL only lives about 10 miles from home and with the 4 wheel drive I am not concerned about the drive.
To all you other hens who have not been here yet this morning I wish you a wonderful Sunday!!!
Warm hugs!!!
Kim hopes up they can work something out for husbands surgery. Also wishes for day to get better.
Serenity those potato pancakes will wait if you can't find the eggs, sure sound good though.
Joyce M I watched Flight yesterday on Amazon after reading your post. We had just received a letter from Amazon reminding us of movies. Have fun sorting and decluttering.
Cindi enjoy football Sunday with FIL. Nice that you are doing a little tree for him . Hope C dressed warm. Big fan to support those Packers in that weather. My hubby is watching his KC Chiefs. Inside our home of course. They are in Seattle today.
Janie button up that overcoat and have fun at the club. Bet you look good in red.
I put a roast, potatoes and carrots in crockpot last night so we have dinner today. Not much else for me.
I am in the middle of a good book.
hugs and clucks
Kim...honey...I don't even know what to say. There has to be help somehow! Write to the President and ask him how his affordable health care is going to help you!!! This shouldn't be happening in our Country!
Serenity...my Mother used to heat honey and butter and give it to us for a cough. It was yummy enough to fake a cough for! As an adult, I find that peanut butter will take control of a tickle...unless it's gone into your chest, of course.
Joyce...I'm all about recycling and magazines are something that many can't afford so something like a Senior Center will welcome them!
Janie...brrrrr. I've only had one morning below zero...so far! I haven't had a dishwasher for about 15 years. Divorce can really change your lifestyle, but I'm happy with what I have.
Cindi...I love hearing about the wonderful relationship you have with your FIL. Too bad the weather changed your original plan, but I bet you'll have a great afternoon with the alternative plan!
I haven't amounted to much today. I know it would probably do me good to get out of the house more often, but I keep finding reasons to procrastinate and eventually... The day is over and I haven't set foot outside. It's only 2:30 so if the spirit moves me, I might pick up some groceries. I need to pay better attention to feeding myself properly. I don't have much motivation to cook for just me, but I might feel better if I took care of myself the way I do for others when I see a need. My shrink reminds me of that!
I hope you're all enjoying some peace and quiet...unless you prefer a ruckus!
Hugs and clucks...
