After an eventful morning of thunder storms and even some hail, there's been a sunny reprieve. They've been predicting some really bad storms moving through this afternoon and evening so I took advantage of the calm before....quick trip to Dollar General.
I turned the tv on a few minutes ago in time to hear that nasty alam system and report from the National Weather Service. On top of the pounding rain, dangerous lightening and high winds, we're now under a tornado warning until 9:00 tonight!
Trying to prepare, I moved my planters that hold the herbs and salad greens I have growing, to the floor of the porch. Who knew Chihuahuas liked to eat that stuff! Naughty Ricky!
If I disappear this afternoon, it means I might be riding my broomstick to Oz. I'll wave if I fly by your house!

Oh, how I hate tornadoes! They scare the living daylights out of me! Please be safe cherry.....no "broomstick" rides for you! (no matter how fun you think they might be) lol Do you live in an area where you get many tornadoes? I live in the Ohio valley and we are always under some type of storm watch or tornado watch around this time of year. I usually get a bag prepared with a few necessities in case we have to go to the basement. I remember when my first child was born....he was only 2 months old. My husband wasn't here and we had a tornado coming through. I was scared to death. I bundled up Brandon and went to the basement and held him tight. I will never forget the high pitch sound I heard that day. Not sure if it was an actual tornado that passed by but it really frightened me.
