Good morning,
It's going to be a long day. My friend's Mom had a stroke yesterday morning. She's a year older than I thought...94! Turns out the surgeon replaced her hip while her heart was in AFib...unbelievable. That most likely caused little clots that caused the stroke. I spent a lot of time at the hospital yesterday. In the evening, I sat and read to her even though she wasn't responding.
I didn't want her to be alone so I stayed until after her Son and his Wife got there from Florida. Her Daughter, my best friend of 45 years, is driving up from N. Carolina today. My apartment is empty and clean and I have an extra mattress that I'll get moved in for her. Her Mom's building has a bedbug problem so she can't stay there. My friend has health problems and it's going to be a difficult drive for her and her little dog.
I haven't seen this friend for about 3 years, though we chat most every day. I wish the circumstances were different, but I'm glad I have a place for her to stay and can be here for her. It would be a miracle if her Mom recovered from this. All she could do was squeeze my hand yesterday. I know she heard me so I kept talking to her and reading from a book about gratitude.
So...long day ahead. I have to get the apartment set and color/cut/set my Mom's hair! Then I'll go back to the hospital.

I am going to a day conference with my mom at her church. I am so worried about it! I'm scared I'll start hurting real bad like I do every day now. I wish I could say no but she is so excited about me going ....I'll try. As embarrassing as it may be I am taking my pillow for sciatic nerve. I just can't sit flat in any chair any more. Even in my recliner at home I have to sit on my leg so my but is off that pressure point. It's going to be a long day for me too Cherry:( I know I would have a good time if I can just keep my pain under control.

Cherry I am so sorry about your friends mom. Yes that was wonderful of you to stay with her and its great that your apartment is open for guests!!
Kim I sure hope that your day is going to be ok and that you can enjoy the conference!

Tonight is my 35th class reunion and looking forward to going. I just hope that my pain stays under control for me!!!
Last night we had a banquet to go to and we had to leave right after dinner because I started hurting so bad but better this morning.
