As I mentioned in an earlier post, my family and I managed to go to the lake . It was a beautiful day, in the 70's, which was perfect weather for the kids to go swimming. Not to disappoint my kids, I got in the water for one 45 minute period, and I will have to say......it was perfect! With the water supporting me, I was weightless. I was able to splash around and play with my kids and continued to work with Brandon and Brittany to perfect the swimming techniques I had taught them the season before. It was euphoric because I actually felt.....normal.......EVEN PAIN FREE, if only for a little while. Nothing else can even come close to making me feel like that, so that was quite a blessing.
All good things come to an end and as soon as I got out of the water, my kids each took one of my hands to help me walk back to our chairs, etc.(I ambulate with a cane 100% of the time) to pack up to come home. Shortly after arrving home, my back was in utter agony, screaming at me for what I did to it earlier at the lake. I had to take a bunch of pain killers, then off to bed for me, (around 6:30pm) with my daughter tucking me in (she likes to do that :) ). It is now shortly past midnight and I am awake only to find that my back hasn't calmed down.......AT ALL!
As I lay here on the couch, I am reflecting upon our beautiful day at the beach and know one thing for sure. Even though I am in agony right now, I WOULDN'T TRADE MY DAY AT THE BEACH FOR ANYTHING! Those are the special memories I am helping to create for my kids, for they will look back at it one day and remember how much fun we had and that, in my opinon, is PRICELESS.

I'm so glad you had fun playing in the water with your kids. It's hard to keep pushing through the agony our bodies feel most of the time.
