I'm at work today. Final preps before inventory on Thursday. Yesterday we had our Christmas dinner since it was when everyone could be together. Turkey was awesome tender since I brined it. Dinner was fabulous if I can brag. Tons of work but I'm very happy about it all. Neglected my warning signs and was hurting real bad by the time everyone left, but am okay this morning.
Keep on the downlow for stress today.
Angela
i'm pretty frantic today since i lost all of yesterday to a horrible migraine. did have refill of imitrex, thank you Lord.
gave in and went to bed at 8:30 last night, so i was awake at 4...too early to let anxiety hit since i lost yesterday. did appetizers for aunt's dinner early, just have to package to take over.
wrapping station is finally set up. over-caffeinated and just taking a breather...
we're having a white Christmas, but it's fog and my sister lives on a mountain, so that'll be a fun drive (mother is driving!).
sorry so long, but have to sit here and breathe a bit since it will be a long 2 days.
enigma, love brined turkey. so glad your dinner turned out well. ha ha, my sides of my family have agreed to low stress, but still!!
wishing all the merriest and low pain, low stress.
Dixie: I am so glad to hear that you found Jack! Praying that the vet can help him. Please keep us posted.
Enigma: Your dinner sounds fabulous! So sorry you have to work today, however, I hope you get out of there early and can enjoy your Christmas eve with your family.
serenity: I KNOW what it is like to suffer a bad migraine. So sorry you lost yesterday. Hopefully you can make up for it today and things don't get too stressful for you.
We made sugar cut-out cookies and sat down to ice them. After all of that, my pain level was extremely high and I couldn't move so I was forced to bed early (around 6pm). Not feeling too bad today. Have just been laying here all morning watching funny Christmas movies. Will have a nice ham dinner a little later.
Still very upset that my Mother couldn't find it in her heart to have us over tonight. She is having my brothers over for Christmas eve but not us. In once breath, she had stated how wonderful it would be to have her "family back together", but then she told me that she would rather have us come later this week. I am feeling so hurt that I don't think I am going to go to her house this Friday. I feel this way about it: If I am not good enough to have over for Christmas, then why bother going at all?
Sorry everyone to bring this up again. I couldn't sleep last night because all I kept thinking about was this situation with my Mother and how hurtful it all is. I need to just forget all about it so that it doesn't ruin MY Christmas with my family.
Anyway, hope everyone has a splendid (low-pain) Christmas!!!
Hugs & Blessings,
Carrie
I am late but wanted to check in. We have Kylie and Kegan and then at 3 our family Christmas Eve will start.
We are having take out from the best Barbecue place in town. Beef brisket, baked beans, potato salad, and slaw.
Yesterday I made peanut butter fudge and sugar cookies which I iced today. My husband makes rum balls every year. He has done a double batch and will probably do another one as our Baptist neighbors look forward to them. No divinity this year. Too much humidity.
Serenity hope your mom is a good driver. Sorry you missed yesterday with the migraine. Please pace yourself today.
Angela your dinner sounds yummy. I have never had a brined turkey but I would like to try it. When I was working the end of the year kept me busy.
Carrie I agree don't let the mom thing ruin your Christmas. Enjoy your evening with your husband and children.
Well it seems the perfect (not) storm is moving in tomorrow. Looks like a white Christmas for us. It has been a very long time since we had snow at Christmas. I am just praying for just snow and not ice.
Merry Christmas Hens
