I saw my doc today and I asked if I could switch BT meds for something of equivalent strength. I was thinking that if I took something else for a while and then went back to what I've been taking, it might work better.

So we figured Dilaudid is the only thing I haven't tried. She called the hospital Pharmacist to get the exact right dosage that would be the equivalent. I got a call from my pharmacy and they said it doesn't come in the strength she prescribed. They said they had called my clinic, but were disconnected.

I tried my clinic and after telling my story and being put on hold, I was disconnected. I called my pharmacy back to see if my doc had called them...nope. So I called the clinic again, crossed my fingers when they put me on hold, finally got an answer.

My sister is making the 25 minute drive back to my clinic because it's one of those meds they can't fax in...grrrrrr. I couldn't get back in a car today.

So...who knows about this med? Does it work? Are the side effects the same as all the others? I'd appreciate any information you can share.
