What's everyone up to?
Dh is on his way to get granddaughter. We are going to do laundry today....she likes to help fold:) and we are going to do a craft and fold and put away a bunch of cloth napkins, which, I am going to start using instead of paper towels. I have holiday ones and guest ones and then every day ones. They are so cheap to make and easy and you can make them in all sorts of patterns and designs:) I'm tired of spending so much on paper towels.
Btw speaking of paper products.....did you know some people use cloth rags in the bathroom instead of toilet paper? Very economical but it's not for me. I also found cloth menstrual pads which I am very interested in.
I love my kurig but The cups are expensive so I found a replacer cup that u use your own coffee.
What are some ways you save money around the house?
Did you know you don't need half as much laundry detergent as the company recommends? My washing machine has a weight balance to it, so it puts only enough water in that is needed based on the weight of the clothes.
I use vinegar and water a lot to clean with instead of expensive chemical based cleaners. So cheap to make!!
Old towels are great to cut up and use for cleaning rags....even on mirrors!
So tell me some ways you save money....I am very interested....it's kinda my new hobby at the moment. I'm also couponing again.:)

I agree its toilet paper for me! I couldn't do cloth. Not sure i could do cloth for menstrual either, blood is so hard to get out, i always end up using bleach on my cheap white underwear that i use just for that. Lol on the plus side periods have started to get irregular with the onset of perimenopause so hopefully all that is coming to an end !
We always cut up dads white vests and use those for cleaning or DIY, and we cut up old old t towels and bath towels.
I went to hobbycraft this morning and bought some stuff to make moulds.
Ive had a lazy afternoon tho, i'm drained, heavy headed and womb achy, i skipped a month and its come really heavy, i was up in the night changing sheets cos i flooded. Who would be a woman huh?!!
Its been a cold miserable day, and i think its staying that way for the weekend,

Dixie sounds fun what you have planned for your granddaughter today. Love the idea of repurposing. The cloth napkins for others uses are great idea. I have lots that match table cloths that I never use. Then I have some that are vintage. Those vintage I would save back but the others would be good to keep around to wipe a spill and such. I think I could curtail my paper towel use but would still need it to absorb that bacon grease for the time I fry bacon.
White vinegar. Well you told me about using it in place of fabric softener with towels in order to make them more absorbent. Later I read an article about how it made clothes brighter because detergent built up in the fiber. I started using vinegar in my rinse dispenser in my washing machine. Immediately noticed a difference.
There are many formulas to make your own all purpose cleaning spray. Rubbing alcohol has a role in killing germs and I have used some on a soft cloth to polish the faucet and handles in bathroom sinks. Good for mirror as well.
Eco friendly.........replace aluminum foil with unbleached parchment paper when possible. Another good one is to use bar soap instead of liquid soaps. Know you all get the reason on this one. Dixie had the great idea on k-cups regarding cost but they are also bad for environment. If you must use them instead of my personal
K-cup check out recycle a k-cup. There is more but these are starters.

Empathy today is a tea day and heating pad. Maybe some Netflix or a good book. Cheering you on to reach the actual no period.
