How would you like to live your final years on this earth? In a perfect situation, pain or not. What would it look like to you?
I've taken those things that are important to me, like education, and gardens, and young company, animals and I put it together.
My vision as an aged senior citizen. I'd like to live in a townhouse in the city with a small backyard, near the old university area, where I can easily walk to get daily groceries and medicine. I would have a small garden in pots so there is no weeding. I would like to envision a kind grandchild living with me, while going to university. If I had the money, and this person was good to me, hell, I'd pay for them to be a rocket scientist if they wanted. Someone I could take care of, and who could watch out for me. I'd like two small dogs, or if that is too much to handle, then, two cats instead. I would oil paint all day long.
In a perfect world.
How about you guys?

89FNo energy, just going to do whatever. Sandra, It's hard to move at a certain time in life. You've been in your home forever, at least you'll be able to travel to the beach and enjoy. Oh, we did hear Boris Johnson's tenure ended due to a series of ethics scandals, accusations of dishonesty and a final collapse of government support that forced his recognation. What he didn't do like the...

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

I would buy a really nice Camper and travel travel travel! I'd have two cats that went everywhere with me too:)
I would spend more time quilting and even take up painting again.
I am already a senior citizen. I am living my dream. I hope to live it out where I am. Lots of trees and birds.
A busy road in front but we live up from it. Across the street from us is about 30 acres of trees. On one side of us is another 20 acres. We have a good spread of trees that separate us from our neighbor on the other side and another spread that helps buffer our neighbor behind us.
The morning songs of the birds and the night sounds of coyotes and the occasion hoot owls are very peaceful. I see deer often and their young ones. There is a pond in the woods next to us . In the spring I can hear the frogs croaking.
Our grandchildren range from almost 5 to 9 years of age. My oldest granddaughter and I are very close.
My dream is to show her the world. As I grow older I hope we will be able to go on cruises together.
This summer my husband and I took her on her first long distance train ride to New Orleans. It is wonderful to see it all through a child's eyes. So many firsts for Kylie on that trip.
My hopes and dreams are with my husband and family. I am living each day and putting one foot in front of the other. On the bad days it seems I will never travel again but somehow we manage to get somewhere once in awhile.
I will be interested to hear others dreams. Mine was not planned out. It has just worked this way. When I was 40 and working I would have preferred the faster pace of the city. I am glad we didn't go there.
By the Enigma your dream sounds lovely and fits you well.
I would love to be living by the sea or at least a short walk from it. The house would be a manageable size with a little private garden thats not over looked by neighbours.
It would be close to the shops.
The beach has to have rock pools, i just love it at the end of the day when the sea has gone out on a hot summers day, and there's little pools of warm water just waiting to be explored.
I would go beach combing and collect shells and odd bits and pieces that the tide has left behind.
In the winter when the grandchildren came to visit, i'd get out all the craft bits and pieces and we'd see what we could make.
It wouldn't be boring going to visit grandma and grandma would always have cake or treats!
Of course it goes without saying that i would have enough money for heating and enough money for food to fill my tummy!
I would like a smaller house with a pond in the yard with flowers planted everywhere. Oh yes and a gardener to clean out the flower beds. Some animals to enjoy like cats, dogs and chickens. Maybe even a goat or two.
I would have bird feeders and bird baths so i could set out on my porch and watch them. Of course a lot of hummingbirds too.
So nice to dream! Have a good night, Diane
