I'm feeling pretty down and was looking for signs of life in the coop. Is it a designated nap hour that I wasn't informed about? I did try to rest earlier, but all sorts of things kept my mind and body from relaxing so I gave up.
I saw my shrink this morning and my increased pain level was pretty obvious. He said that most doctors want reports about their patients in therapy, but apparently mine doesn't seem to think it's her concern. He called her right after my appt. and intended to clue her in, but he emailed me within the hour to say she was working at the hospital today...he called her there and left a message for her to call him back. I truly wonder if she'll get around to it.
He's doing whatever he can to help me cope with my life as it is and improve what we can. I'm afraid I feel like a sinking ship at this point.
I had barely gotten back home when my Parents invaded my quiet time. Mom is always determined to jump in and 'help' with whatever it is that I'm doing. Sometimes I just want to putter at my own pace!!! Dad can't take on any kind of task anymore, yet Mom still expects he can try. He ended up getting something all screwed up for me and then Mom told me that I needed to be more patient with my Father. 99% of the time, I am so patient with both of them, but she doesn't notice that.
I'm rambling...just sick of everything right now.
Oh...one more stressor. A couple months ago, a client whose hair I've done for years, slid her heel off the bottom stair after using my bathroom. She fell, got right up and said it was her fault and then made noises like a wild animal. She refused any kind of help and even drove home, about 15 minutes away. Her sister immediately called to ask if my insurance was going to cover this! This...before she took her sister to get checked! The sister worked for the same insurance co. I have my policy with.
I called my claims line to let them know what happened and the guy was very nice and said he'd give her a call to let her know we could take care of anything her insurance didn't cover...a nice damage control type of gesture. Back track...the client called me as soon as she got home from the ER, sounded fine and said she'd just bruised some muscles.
Well...Friday I got a call from another guy assigned to come take a pic of the fall site. From my original description of railings on both sides, he said there was nothing to be concerned about, but when he met with her first, she had decided that she would sue for $10,000. WTF??? I've even done her hair since the fall and she assured me she was fine and it was her fault! This sounds like her Sister's doing. I would never have expected it from her.
Tomorrow morning, I am giving a haircut at 9:00, going to PT at 9:30 and then opening my home to be photographed at 11:00. I'm not sure how big my deductable is for something like this, but I can't afford any more unexpected expenses. The man was so nice and kept telling me not to worry...this is why I have insurance. I doubt very much that she could win, but it still has me a wreck.
This idiot woman has a perm and color booked with me for next week. Can she really think I would let her back in my house now? What if she has another clumsy moment, stubbs her toe and thinks that's worth $25,000? She doesn't work anymore...no lost wages. This is just bullshit and I've had about my limit of stress for a while.
Yikes...another novel. Sorry about that.

Take a deep breath. She cannot just arbitrarily sue for a stated number. Your insurance will make her prove, lost wages, physical harm which translates into pain and suffering. Been there.......cancel her perm and tell he you have a policy of not serving clients that have been injured so THEY will not suffer emotionally. How do I type tongue in cheek?
Your parents are getting older and that just sucks the life out of you. Invading your space and trying to " help " is so depressing and I sure understand what you are talking about. My heart and support are going out to you in this very difficult situation.
Depression and despair are the unseen forces that suck the very life out of us Pain increases which then effect whatever is happening. You have written the first part of your novel and I can hardly wait to read a happier ending. Support is here and you have it.
Gentle supportive hugs,
Joanne
I'd cancel that client and give no excuses. Just tell her if your around her with scissors you might be tempted.
What nerve!
Hope the dr thing works works out.
Patients with parent is very stressful. I undstand whole heartly.
Hugs and a nap sound like a good idea
:)
Hope Dad didn't make a lot of extra work for you. Wonder why Mom doesn't realize the problems your Dad is having.
So wishing you a better day tomorrow. Our Joanne is right on all counts.
By the way Joanne have you had your report for your MRI and a decision on what to do with the result on your
Colonoscopy ? Worry about you Moon Dancer.
Dix I hope you got to feeling better.
Tomorrow I go for a cervical MRI. Then in the afternoon I see a neurologist. My hands shake so bad that you can see the coffee moving in my cup. I also seem to drop things and knock things over.
Wishing everyone sweet dreams .
